I was suppose to be doing chores while Dusty hopelessly wandered around looking for Noah - But, I would much rather stalk her and her hopeless plan.
Believe it or not, I was very curious to see how this would turn out. The odds might benefit me or they might offend my feelings, either way, I was willing to take the risk. I was a very curious woman, and that's how I recovered secrets about my parents divorce when I was 16 and how I found out Dani's BFF - Floria was sending nudes to Dani's boyfriend. I must say - Eavesdropping was always one of my specialities.
Today it was 96 degrees out and the air was quite dry. It was pleasant weather and I'm almost positive Dusty was enjoying herself. On the chores list Dusty's chore was to wash the pigs, pointless. I know. But even if Dusty asked me before I was most defiantly not going to do it now. I would much rather eavesdrop and pray to God that Dusty would get turned down. So I stood there behind the red wall of the barn. There was a hole in the siding that was just perfect for an eye to look through and get a clear view of the inside. I was the new and improved Sherlock Homes.
"Noah!" Dusty called in a slurred voice that was suppose to sound sexy. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh hey Dusty," Noah said while walking towards her. He seemed normal and he walked in such a way that made it seem like he didn't care about her appearance. He didn't even seem to acknowledge her. "Have you seen Karman anywhere?" He asked. My heart stopped beating, I was literarily frozen in place. He remembered my name?
"Psh, Karman? No, I haven't seen her all day" Dusty said. To me it was a obvious lie, but perhaps that was only because I knew the truth. She twisted her heels and puffed out her chest, Noah only nodded.
"Okay, well if you see her could you tell her I was looking for her?" He asked with a half smile. My insides bubbled and my smile formed into a watermelon shape. He was looking extra fine today, or should I say ultra fine like a sharpie. I wanted to jump out right then and there and yell; "HERE I AM"
Noah turned around and started walking away from Dusty who was very disappointed. "Wait!" She called out, her tone was a desperate wail. "I need help with my chores!" She yelled with a plead. Her shirt trailed behind her as she ran after him.
"I'm kind of busy at the moment" He said as he began to walk off while leaving her behind in the dust. A feeling of pride overwhelmed me, maybe I was wrong when I said nothing else could make me happy today.
"No you're not! I mean - I'm having a hard time washing these pigs today" She corrected. She flashed a bright white smile and ran to catch up with him as they rounded the barn corner. I wanted to follow so bad, but I knew I would just risk my chances of getting caught. I turned around to return to my chores which were at the opposite side of the farm but when I turned the corner I walked right into view of Noah who stood in front of the barn door again, Dusty was clinging to his shoulder. He shrugged her away.
"There you are Karman! Your grandma wanted me to tour you around town" He said with an attractive smile. He wore a black t-shirt that had a rodeo logo on it. He looked hot in it though, his muscular arms made my eyeballs pop out of my forehead like one of those squeezer toys. His veins were literally showing through his skin. I practically spotted droll running down Dusty's chin, although if you looked close enough, there was probably some on mine also.
I was loss of words. "Oh- okay" I said while following his led out the barn door. I'm not going to lie - I felt so accomplished right now. Seeing the look of envy on Dusty's face made my insides buzz with excitement.
"Oh and Dusty, your Grandma wants you to clean the Pig pens and pick up the cow crap seeing as how you skipped your chores yesterday" Noah said. His hair was legit perfect today the way it swayed from side to side. It looked all natural which made him even more intoxicating. It was like Noah himself was a drug, except it didn't take much to get wobbly and nervous. All it took was one look, and then I was suddenly cast under the spell he was well unaware of.

On a scale from 1-10 when it came to calculating your nervousness, I was a complete 10. My hands were shaking and my heart was beating faster than it normally did. He offered me a chance to go upstairs and prep, I was a tiny bit surprised by his offer.
I owned make-up. I had a bottle of mascara that was a couple years old and some tan color eyeshadow but nothing was spectacular like Dusty's box of supplies. For a moment of two I seriously debated on sneaking into Dusty's room to apply some of her make-up.
But, I didn't. As much as I wanted to I refused my unrealistic thinking. Surely he would notice how I looked different. Surely he would notice how my eyelashes grew in a matter of 4 minutes or how my skin looked tanner. So I avoided Dusty's room at all costs and made a bee-line straight towards my closet.
I changed out of my mucky sneakers and stepped into simple, black flip-flops. I changed out of an already dirty shirt into a flowery tank top that looked appropriate for going out in public. I left my hair down since it would take too long to do anything special with it. Today my hair looked mildly good, surprisingly it was long enough to reach my butt.
Once I was done looking presentable I trudged down the stairs to the front porch. My feet were even shaking along with my finger tips and palms. I was completely nervous, every second I flattened my hair down and brushed off my clothes - it was like I was getting ready to star on a Hollywood TV show, I was that nervous.
I just prayed that everything would go as planned. We would talk all evening and he would show me around - Everything would work out fabulously. Luckily this evening, the odds defiantly seemed to be in my favor.
