Chapter 31, I can Breaaaaathe!!

Alexander's POV

Its been three weeks since River's surgery and she hasn't woken up. Her heartbeat was calm and normal and she was breathing without her mask just perfectly.

With a sigh i move a strand of her hair from her cheek and set it behind her ear. "Alpha... You should eat, Shower and rest. Ill get you when she wakes up." Dr yew says softly. I meet her gaze for a second before sliding it to River. "I'll be back Little one." i whisper. I kiss her forehead and trudge out of the room with a sigh.

I head to my room and take a quick shower. The thought of food didn't sound appealing but i went to obey the doctors orders and got me some leftover meat loaf. The pack was either out training or at school.

I get to my room and i curl up on top of the covers. I let my eyes closed and i fall into a fitful sleep.

River's POV (TADA!!)

When i come to, I could hear beeping and i open my eyes hesitantly. blinding white light fills my vision and i shut my eyes immediately. I open my eyes again and i see a lady enter the room. Her eyes widen and she dashes out.

I feel my mask off my face and i was now confused as to why I was here. i struggle to get up and within second the door was slammed open and i'm pulled into Alexander's arms. I snuggle closer to him with a small sigh and he rubs my back gently.

"I thought i lost you." He whispers shakily. "i'm never lost to you. You're stuck with me daddy." i say softly. He chuckles and the lady enter. "I just need to run a few more tests then she'll be ready to go." she says.

Alexander nods and sits down into A chair by my bed. The lady smiles slightly and i watch her warily. "River, I am Dr. Yew." she says. She begins the tests as i watch her and she gives me a small smile every now and then.

two hours later*

I giggle running around the bedroom and Alexander bursts into laughter as i jump onto the bed. I was free from the tank and energetic. It was about three o'clock and Alexander was doing pack work in His room.

I jump and do a kaboosh (Jump up, Land on your bum and bounce, land on feet) He smiles in my direction and yawns. I stop jumping and i stretch. "Daddy, Where is everyone?" I ask.

"Either at school or training, I graduated." he says. I smile slightly. "Okay. I'm.... Sleepy." I say yawning. "Then sleep baby girl, I'll be here when you wake up." he says as i curl under the covers. I doze off without a thought.

When i wake up the smell of Spaghetti fills my nose. I lift my head up to see Alexander bringing in two plates. He grins when he sees me awake. "Got some Foood" he says drawing out the word food. "YAY!" i squeal. I sit up as he sits down and he sets the plate in my lap. We dig in immediately but i was first to finish. He blinks at me as i burp. "Excuse me." i say with a small giggle. he smiles as i set the plate on the bedside table.

He grab my plate once he is finished and he pulls me onto his hip. i rest my head on his shoulder and he carries me down stairs. About twenty people look up when we enter and they smile in our direction. "Glad your better River." A girl says about the age of eighteen. i smile at them and they go 'Aww' Alexander chuckles as he walks in the kitchen.

He sets out plates down and returns to the living room. He sits next to a man and i curl into his lap as a comfortable silence fills the room. "How about we all head to the Fair?" Alexander asks after a while. Everyone cheers and i giggle.
