Rih's P.O.V
She had straight jet black hair which flowed just past her shoulders, she was slightly shorter than me and most likely younger too. Amani was pretty, like hella pretty. Which made me wonder why she was working for Rakim as a house maid. I would've done thought she was one of his girlfriends or something.
"Lovely to meet you." She nodded and began getting back to work like her life depended on it. She arranged the plates and cutlery in a very organised state that I didn't even know was possible. Amani continued to work and I just stood there watching her. She was probably those OCD type of people because she definitely took her time.
She turned around and looked over at me as she giggled. "I'm sure you have better things to do than stand around and watch me clean all day."
I raised a brow. "Trust me, I don't."
We both laughed together.
"How do you know Rocky?" She asked curiously.
"Well...erm, he's mutual friends with that my friend. Jaxon."
"The one sitting with him in the other room, yeah?"
I nodded.
"Is that your boyfriend?" She asked.
Aight this bitch better cool down with the questions. She's nosy as hell.
"I clearly just stated we're friends, chill."
Amani walked over to the pantry and began dusting down. "Doesn't seem like it. The way he looks at you is just... Something else, honey." She said. Her tone was now admirable.
I remained silent. She wouldn't even be saying that if she knew how long we'd known each other. Three weeks. Who starts feeling that typa way about someone after three weeks?
"Mhm aight." I chuckled. "Enough about my love life. How's yours?" I fired the question, just like she had done before.
She stopped dusting and looked at me like I'd said something I wasn't supposed to. "Girl. What even is a love life when you're Rakim's house maid?" She said in a sarcastic tone.
I went over to the sink and poured myself a glass of water. "Pft, c'monnn. It can't be that bad, seriously."
"Forreal, yo. I legit live here. Rocky rarely lets me out this place." She said in a more serious tone. My smirk turned into a frown. No way was she serious.
"Are you fvcking serious? Amani, you need a social life too." I looked at her, now becoming a bit concerned. Was Rakim actually this cold hearted?
She simply gave me the same smile again. "It's cool, I'm used to it though. I can't imagine not living here. Anyway, when are you guys leaving?" She asked as she washed her hands and took off her apron.
"I don't know. But all I know is we're gonna be staying here for a while." I said.
There was no way Rakim was releasing me and Jaxon. Mainly because the tension between the two of those boys had risen.
Amani's face lit up instantly as she gave me an embrace. I widened my eyes and rubbed her back awkwardly. This girl was weird. But cute too.
She pulled away and smiled slightly. "Sorry if I freaked you out, I just haven't had girl company in ages."
"Oooh.." I said now understanding more. I felt pitty for Amani. Her life seemed so dull and she had absolutely no friends. Good thing I'm here now. Shit's about to switch up real quick.
