They had almost finished with their hot chocolate when they reached the top of temple hill and entered the Jupiter Optimus Maximus. Jason remembered when he fist saw this place and how overwhelmed he felt. This was all built for his dad. How could he ever top this? Jason turned and looked at Reyna. She had a look of astonishment all across her face. They pushed further into the building and realized they were not the only ones in there. At the center of the room there was a blazing fire just at the feet of the Jupiter statue. In front of the fire was a skinny, sickly, blond kid in a toga. He was swaying as he chanted and he was holding the entrails of a stuffed walrus. This was not a particularly odd sight for Jason except for the fact he had no idea who the kid was. He was not the usual Augur. Jason approached the kid and asked "Where's Aaron?" Aaron was the Augur and joint praetor, he was a scruffy looking kid short and buff. Jason was convinced when he first met him that he was a son of mars, and he could have passed for one despite his demeanor. Jason wasn't saying all kids of mars were blood thirsty megalomaniacs, but the son of Ceres legacy of Apollo was the sweetest guy he had ever met. Aaron was the kind of guy who would bring extra change with him as he walked to breakfast specifically for the fauns, or who would bake you a pie after a pretty hardy defeat at war games. Even if the guy was a natural leader or had a gift for prophecy he could make a killer pie. The blonde kid turned to Jason and said "Ah, Jason Grace, Son of Jupiter. I was expecting you." He gave Jason the creeps just looking at him. The boy continued "I have read the entrails, they told me you had a purpose here today. As to the ware bouts of Aaron, he is gone I am the new augur Octavian Legacy of Apollo God of Prophecy! I-" He was cut off by Aaron entering behind them. "No he's not!" Aaron looked annoyed but seemed like he was used to it, he was flipping through some papers as he walked towards Jason. "Hey Grace, This is my apprentice Octavian, He's...uh... Well he's helping me out. I just had to pop into the principia to discuss... " he paused and looked at Reyna. "Well to discuss you."
