"Stop worrying" Alex told Cassandra as she walked back and forth on the same spot.

"But what if he-"

"He'll be ok"

"How do you know that?"

"Because I've known Tom for ages, he'll be back."

Cassandra sighed and sat next to him. A few moments dragged themselves by before a rock flew through the window, shattering it to pieces. Cassandra picked it up, taking off the piece of paper tied to it and reading it allowed.

We have Tom. Surrender yourselves and we won't kill him. We want Cassandra. Bring her to the city at dawn, or suffer the consequences.

Cassandra looked up at Alex. They stared at each other for a few moments.

"I'll do it" she said quietly.

"I'll surrender myself"

"What? No! Cassandra don't be-"

"If I can get in, I can kill the king, and get Tom out."

Alex shook his head.

"Fine" he mumbled.

"Don't worry" she said, grinning.

"I have a plan"

Alex laughed. Then stopped.

"Wait, your serious?" She smiled mischievously and they discussed possible plans. Finally deciding on one, they told everyone else, and everyone got into position.
