Chapter 23

"Where's Tyler?"

"He isn't back from the store." Cassy answered me.

"Elena still asleep right?" I called down the hallway and my mother came in with her.

"No she isn't, but her and grandma are about to go to my room and play aren't we Elena?" Elena giggled as my mother tickled her.

I smiled at them just as Cassy tripped into me nearly knocking me into Bella who was sitting at the kitchen counter. Luckily though Alec caught me before I could do so. Bella was already having pains from the baby kicking.

"Ow!" She screamed and her hand went to her stomach to rub it there. I pulled Alec's hands from my waist and rushed her side.

"Only four more months Bella." I told her in a soothing voice.

"Yeah only four my butt! Ow! Stop that baby it seriously hurts." Tears formed in her eyes.

"Come on Bella." I said and took her hand to pull her to her feet.

"Where are we going?" She asked through her teeth. I just continued to lead her outside.

"We are going walking Rosabella." I told her and she let me lead her around my back yard. "Remember I carried two little ones and I remember how active they can be. Just remember that babies like to hear their mother's voices and they like to be moved around so just rocking will help. Also I don't think you need to eat much more sugar for now."

Her mouth dropped open. "But that's what I'm craving!"

I smiled and walked her around the pool. "I know Bella, trust me I know. It's just what I've learned helps the baby calm a little. Although for a while I ignored my doctor because I was afraid they would stop kicking if I stopped taking as much sugar." With a laugh I told her one of my experiences. "In fact I was put in the hospital for a day because I was in so much pain. My grandmother of course didn't like that and she put all my food and snacks on watch. She literally put a bell on the cabinets, pantry and fridge so that she could watch what I ate." Bella laughed, but then she fell quiet as we make our second walk around my yard.

"How did you cope with loosing your son?"

"Well I still had Elena." I sighed. "The only thing that kept me going was Elena, I went into a sort of depression after loosing one child and I wouldn't talk to anyone but her. Not even my own parents could get me to say something, but then Matt came and Tyler came later one day. They got me to open up a little that day and then Cassie helped. Honestly I think that’s why she came to live with us instead of touring the world with her parents."

"She afraid of you falling into a depression again." Bella said. "We wouldn't let you do that. Brook you know we wouldn't, me, Liz, Alec and most of all Tyler. He cares too much about you to let you get hurt like that again. He really cares about you."

I looked away from her. "That's what everyone says." I turned back to face her and she was about to reply when her face clouded with a pained look. Both her hands went to her belly and she rubbed gently.

"Make them stop." She begged, but I didn't know what to do exept to rub her stomach as well. The pain left her face, but not her eyes.

"Hey girls!" Tyler shouted from the deck I looked up past Bella's shoulder to see Tyler, Kale and Matt standing there. "Is she..." Tyler started to ask some question, but I shook my head to cut him off and all at once Bella put her head on my should and I slowly felt my shirt grow wet from her tears. I put my hands around her and rubbed her back only to hear stomps behind her and see Kale running down the stairs towards us.
