It had been a month since Nathan was born. Matt couldn't be happier that he finally had a son. Lacy could go into labor any day. Her due date was actually May 1st but is now May 9th. Grace was getting concerned that if he wasn't going to come naturally, they would have a C-section or she would have to induce in town at the clinic.

Blaine POV

I was working late in my studio and then I heard a noise outside. I take a look outside the door and didn't see or hear anything. Then going out towards the garden, I see a bear. I grab my gun sitting next to the door as I alert Bam and Gabe. Then other boys had their guns as we made our way towards it. Billy stepped out onto the porch. "Blaine, shoot a warning shot." My gun is ready as I point it towards the sky. "Ready?" "Pull" I take the first shot. The bear doesn't move. Then I heard Bam. "Take another one." I shoot again and it didn't move. "We might have to get a little closer." Gabe steps in front of me as he approached the bear. He took another shot. The bear got up and left. We make our way back to our cabins. Birdy is waiting for me in the doorway. "Did you guys solve the bear problem?" "It took three shots. I think they are getting used to that sound." "Let's go to bed." "I need to finish this order." "You will finish it tomorrow." She took my hand as we got ready for bed.

The family woke the next morning to a normal day. Chores needed to be done and rest of the walkways were being made. They were tired of walking around in the mud. Grace was going to talk to Lacy and Noah on their options for the baby.

Lacy POV

I'm tired of being in this bed. I was ready for him to be here. I am miserable and he is so big. I know he is cramped in there. The door opened and then Noah came in from the outhouse. "Grace will be here in a minute. She was organizing all of the information for us." Then we hear the door open and then she appeared. "Hey guys" She gave me a kiss on the cheek and hugged Noah. She sat in the rocking chair as she pulled it closer to the bed. "We have two opinions. I could prep you in the next few days for a C-Section or we can make an appointment in town with a doctor that can induce you." "We want to go as natural as possible." "Then I could make an appointment for you at the hospital. They would induce you and then the rest would be up to your body. The baby could be born in Browntown or the hospital." Noah spoke before I could "They baby should be born here." "I would feel better if we had the baby in the hospital. With him being late like this. I wouldn't want anything to happen. No offense to Grace but I don't want to be all of the way out here. There is also a possibility of the boat breaking down on the way into town." "With being in a proper hospital with all the equipment, it would make me feel better as a doctor and an aunt." I took Noah hand for him to understand how scared I was. He looked over at me and gave the Grace the okay to make the appointment. She left us by ourselves to talk about it. "I only what is the best for my wife and my son. If that means that he will have be born in a hospital, then so be it." He kissed my hand as he left me to my book.

Grace went into town that afternoon with Blaine to talk to the hospital.

Grace POV

I stepped into the small hospital as the receptionist led me in the right direction. I was directed to the third floor that was the maternity. I talk to one of the nurses as she introduced me to the main doctor working that day. "I'm Doc. Grace Brown and I need to find a time to bring my patient in to be induced. We live on a remote island and she is passed her due date." "Can I have a way to know you are a certified doctor?" "Yes, these are my papers and I have worked in two major hospitals in Washington state and Arkansas. You may call them and they would tell you I'm a great surgeon." "I would need to get with the hospital board and discuss with them. I can call a meeting with them in the next few hours." "That would be great thank you." I left her to her patients as she took my information. I wanted in the lobby of the hospital and got me a cup of coffee. I waited all afternoon as an official of the hospital came up to me. "Are you Doc. Grace Brown?" "That would be me." "I am the head of the hospital board and I am her to escort you." I stood and followed him. I brought forth my information again. They call the two gentlemen that they wanted me to use a contact on this such an occasion. I was waiting in a chair that was outside the big meeting room. A man opened the door and invited me back in. I sat in the chair facing the panel. "We have considered this and we are offering you access to all of our equipment and technology for you patient. The earliest date is in three days." "That would great thank you." I shook each one of their hands as I made my way back to the dock. Blaine was asleep on the skiff as he had to wait for me all day. I step in as he woke from the sudden noise. "Hey, how did it go today at the hospital?" "We will have another nephew in the next three days."

Noah POV

Grace told me the good news that we could have our son at the hospital. I wish he could be born in Browntown but I'll do whatever it takes. I walk into the cabin to find her trying to get comfy in bed. "Do you want me to give you massage on your back?" She shook her head as she turned on her side. She was staring out of the window that was on her side of the room. I sit up in bed beside her as I read my book. After a while, I can hear her snoring. Then I decided that I needed to get some sleep too. I put my book down and turn the light off as I laid down.

Three Days Later

The entire family was making their way into town for the arrival of the newest addition. They checked into the hospital as they got everything together. Grace induced her as the family made their way to the waiting room. Then Lacy felt her first contraction.

Noah POV

She was feeling a contraction every thirty minutes. I knew it wouldn't be long. We waited for a few hours and then she was ready to push. Grace came in to help. "You know what to do Lacy, it is time to push." I was standing next to her as she pushed. "You can do it darling." She pushed for about an hour as our son came into the world. He started crying as Grace handed the baby to Lacy. He had black hair and full head of hair at that. He hasn't opened his eyes yet as I cut the cord. A nurse took him away to clean him up. I kiss Lacy as she was cleaned up. "I'm going to go tell the rest of the family." I walk towards the waiting room as Stefan and Valerie run over to me. The grab each of my legs. "We have a new baby boy, Edward Bill Brown." Dad came over to hug me. "Would you like to see your new grandson?" Dad helps mom up as we made our way to the room.

Amelia POV

Matt was holding Nathan as I went to the vending machine to find a bottle of water. Then I hear my name being called by a familiar voice. "Amelia?" I turn to see an old friend of my ex-husband's. "Daniel, is that you?" "How did you get up here?" "I moved here for solidity after my husband's death. Then I met another man and we got married with two kids now." "Wow, two kids? You still look great." We started walking back towards the family. "What about you? Did you ever get married or have kids?" "I did get married but we just got a divorce. We never had any kids." "Why did you get a divorce?" "I cheated on her." I nodded my head as we made it back. "I would like you meet my husband. Matt, can you come her please." He walked over with and gave Nathan to Birdy. "I would like you to meet Daniel, he was in the military with my first husband. We were stationed on the same base and they were in the same group." "Nice to meet you, I'm Matt Brown." "Nice to meet you." They shook hands. Then Daniel spoke up. "I was meeting my doctor so; I hope to see ya'll around sometime." "Sounds great, it was great to see you." He hugged me as he walked away. "It was great to see someone from my past. He is the only one that had survived during the attack overseas." We hugged as he was trying to comfort me. "I think Nathan is wanting to eat." "It is almost time to head back to the boat to have dinner." "Bam and Eleanor have already left to fix dinner." We went in to see the new baby and give everyone a hug as we made our way to the boat.

Matt stepped on the boat and opened the door to the cabin. "Whoa, hello." "What's wrong?" "We don't need to go in there. They were cooking but not on the stove." We all laughed as we stood on the dock. Bam stuck his head out without a shirt. "Dinner is already done; you guys just need to fix your plates."

We had finished dinner and he was getting the kids to bed. I was standing on the deck of our boat. The wind was blowing my hair and it was chilly as I pulled my jacket closer to me. I hear footsteps behind me and I thought it was Matt coming to get me. Then a cloth was put over my mouth as I screamed into it. Then I was out.
