About to Burst

Noah POV

I was conducting one of my experiments when I think I hear my name. The voice sounds like Lacy and that she is trouble. I put the chainsaw down and rush out of the tent. I see her on the ground with tears in her eyes. I rush over to her "What wrong?" "I have a stabbing pain in my side. I need Grace." "Grace! Grace!" I see her rush out the door from her cabin. She runs over to us. "What's wrong?" "She has a pain in her side." "I need to see her in the medical cabin. I'll get help."

Gabe POV

My brothers and father were teaching Rainy how to shoot. Snowbird was standing close by as well. Then I hear yelling coming from the trail that lead to the house. We all turn and then I see Grace running towards me. I become worried as I meet her halfway. "What is it?" "I need help bringing Lacy to the medical cabin. She is having a sharp pain." "I'm coming." We race back to Lacy as she is crying hysterically. I pick up bridal style as she yells out in pain. "Stop Gabey you are hurting her!" "I'm trying to get her to the cabin so you can take care of her." Noah was trailing closely beside her. Grace opens the door as I set her on the table. Noah stands to one side as she ripped open Lacy's gown.

Grace POV

I didn't see anything visible on the skin. I put pressure on her side. It was internal. I didn't want to cut her open and she bleed out. I take her temperature and it is over a hundred. "We have to take her into town. I could cut her open here put I don't have the proper tools for an appendicitis. "Gabe go tell the boys to get the boat ready to go. We need to be out of her fast." He rushes out the door as Noah stepped closer to Lacy and took her hand. "We are going to get you help okay?" She nodded her head slowly as she was sweating and I grabbed a cold wet rag to put on her head.

Bam POV

"Gabe and I will take her into town. Gabe go get her and I will get the skiff ready." A few minutes later they were walking down the beach. Gabe placed her inside the skiff as Noah and Gabe pushed the skiff out into the bay. Noah jumped in first to have her next to him. It was cold out as Noah took her into his arms to keep her warm. We make our way to the Integrity and Gabe steps onto the boat as Noah hands her up to him. Noah steps up as he took her from Gabe and he helps me to secure the skiff. I grab the steering wheel as Gabe gets the boat ready. We take off as Noah is in the cabin with her.

Noah POV

I was holding her to my chest as she was having chills. "You're going to be okay. I promise you that. You are going to stay alive and the you are going to have a have our baby in seven months." I kiss her forehead as she clutching my shirt. She is becoming weak. I hope she could make it and stay with me. "Bam, are we getting close to town?" "We still have a few miles to go." It felt forever until Bam shouted he was pulling up to the dock. "We are almost at the clinic they will help you soon." Then she started yelling in pain. "What's wrong?" She tried to speak "I think it burst." "Hurry guys! I think it burst." "We are docked. Let's go." Gabe walks in and carries her to the deck. I get down as she was handed to me. All three of us make our way to clinic. We rush through the door as they took us back. They took an ultrasound and found that it had busted. They had to take her to emergency surgery. "She is pregnant, 3 months." I was ushered to the waiting room. I was given paper work to fill out. I couldn't think. All I could think about was her and the baby. Both of my brothers were trying to be there for me.

A few hours later, a nurse out to the waiting room "Is she okay and the baby?" "Both of them are fine. We will need to monitor them for a few days. Are you the Browns that live about ten miles out?" "Yes, my sister in law is a certified doctor." "Has she ever worked in a major hospital?" "Yes, in her hometown and Seattle." "I will write up some instructions for her and I will pack a few things to dress her wound. She hasn't woken up yet but we will let you know when she has. Then you will be able to take her home in a few hours." "Thank you for all that you guys have done for my wife." She nodded her head in response and walked away. I sat back down as my brothers patted my shoulder. We waited on them as she was helped out by a nurse. "Darling, are you feeling any better?" She nodded her head as I took her from the nurse. Gabe took all the supplies and he said that he would give it to Grace. Bam held the door open as we walk through and down the steps. It took us sometime but we made it back to the boat. We all helped her in as I took her inside the cabin of the boat. We sat down as they untied us from the dock and then we were off. We had to be home by night fall because we didn't have proper lights yet. I needed to work on that before too long.

We made it back as the sun set behind the mountains. The boys helped me as we took our time getting back to shore. The family was sitting by the fire when we walked up. Stefan ran to his mother "Stefan stop. Mommy can't pick you up right now." He started getting upset as he ran back to mom. I didn't mean to yell at him. I took her to her to bed. I got her a new gown and I got her in bed. "Sleep, you and the baby need it." I kiss her forehead as she falls asleep. I walk back to the bonfire as I sit next to mom. Gabe and Grace were on their way to the medical tent. I reach my hands out to my son as he comes to me. "I'm sorry I yelled at you. Mommy is hurting right now. I had to take her to the doctor today in town." He looked at me with his big blue eyes, just like his mother. He wrapped his arms around my neck. "I'm sorry daddy. I don't want to hurt mommy anymore." I rub his back as I could hear Valerie laughter. Rainy had my baby in her arms. Stefan lets go of my neck as he heard his sister. Rainy sat down on the other end of the bench. "Do you want to show daddy what you did today?" Valerie nodded her head as Rainy sat her down on her feet. She held on the bench as she walked towards me. Something happy for a change. My baby girl is walking. "You're walking! You are doing it! Come to daddy." She giggled as she walked over to me as I pick her up and sat her in my lap. "Good job darling. Have they had dinner yet?" "Yes we have. I can make you and Lacy a plate?" "Can you bring it the cabin while I put them to bed." "Sure." Rainy walked off as she went to fix our plates. I take both of my children into the cabin and into bed.

I read the kids a bed time story as both of them fell asleep. I give each of them a kiss on the head. I leave them in their room. I see the plates on the kitchen table. I lock our front door as I take a fork and take a bite of the deer meat. I finish my plate as I take the other one in our room. I go to my side of the bed. I take my boots off and get ready for bed. She needed to eat as she eating for two. "Lacy you need to wake up and eat something." She starts waking up as she looks up at me. "What?" "I have dinner for you." She sat up as I fed her. She ate every bite as she laid back down after eating. She laid her head in my lap as she fell asleep. I moved my hand through her hair. I take my hair out of its pony tail as I just wanted to stay up with her. I watched her sleep because I didn't want anything to happen to her. It made feel like I was finally being a husband and father when I knew my family was safe.
