Anonymous POV
I had left a note on Lacy's pillow when she came home. I had rented an RV for the family to travel in and they had to leave in the next few days if they wanted to make the deadline. Each stop had a man's name on it to save which child. They had to be in San Francisco by the end of the week to save Bear's daughter.
Bear POV
Dad had been given a week off from his treatments. An RV showed up in the parking lot that had our name on it and it looked to be brand new. We all gathered in the RV to drive to our first destination. Dad sat in the driver's seat as the map on the screen appeared. It spoke "It is 807.8 miles to your destination." She stated giving dad directions to the destination. We traveled the whole way there in thirteen hours. The next morning after a good night's sleep, there was note attached to the window. It was addressed to me "You have one hour until your daughter will be dropped from 210 feet above the ground if you don't save her. Your hour starts now." Bam starts the RV as the computer says it was set and it was close by 3 miles. We drove part of the way and then we were stuck in traffic. We waited for a while until we realized the hour was almost out. I jump out of the door and I run the rest of the way. I had already lost my wife, I couldn't lose her. I keep running and running. I made it to the tower and I saw someone standing on the balcony. I race up the stairs trying to reach her. A woman was holding my child when I reached to top of the stairs. "Hand me my daughter." "I can't or I'll be killed myself." "What is your name?" "Charlotte" "My name is Bear and I can help both of you if you come with me."
Charlotte POV
I didn't want to hurt this child. She was very precious but he would kill me. I felt like I could trust him. I walk closer to him as I hand him his daughter. She wraps her arms around his neck as he hugs her back. He kisses her head and looks back at me. He put his hand out for me to take. Without thinking, I take his hand and run down the stairs with him. He was a very handsome man and I hadn't been with a man since my husband died in a car crash. I started think back to that day. I couldn't go to that place at this moment, I had to stay in the present. We reach the bottom of the steps to see an RV pulling up. A woman with red hair opened the side door to let us in. The door closed as we drove off until we reached the coast line. A man spoke to me "Who are you?" Bear answered before I did "Her name is Charlotte and she was in the tower keeping my daughter save. That is where it is going to stay. Now leave her be." The looks that the family gave me, I think he liked me too. Bear turns to me "Let's go in the back and let the both of you rest." I walk towards the back when I hear one of his brothers "You know when he likes a girl, he starts acting more normal." There is a bed in the back and I sit down on the end of the bed. He laid her down in the middle of the bed as he was helping her fall asleep. He told her a story as she fell into a blissful sleep. He comes to sit beside me as he takes my hand. It's warm, big, and I could feel the callouses on his hands. "Thank you for saving my daughter." "Well thank you for saving me." "No problem, do you have a husband that I need call for you?" "No, my husband is dead. He died a few months back. What made you think I had a husband?" "The ring on your finger." He puts his face closer to mine. I come closer to him as we are about to kiss but we hear shouting from the front. "Another note has been left. It's for Gabe."
Gabe POV
I'm holding Grace as we were reading the note. It was on a beach chair. "Your twins will be on the highest mountain looking over Los Angeles, the Hollywood Sign. Be there tomorrow afternoon at sunset." We all load up into the RV as the GPS was already set for the Hollywood sign. We would arrive tonight then sleep in the RV. We drove for another five hours and we all found a place to sleep. Mom and dad were in the bed in the back. The kids and wives slept inside as the boys slept outside in tents.
I couldn't sleep that night knowing I would save the twins tomorrow. This guy was trying to prove a point but we didn't know what that was. When they were taken Rose was starting to walk. Henry was trying but he was a little more trouble. I just stare at the stars trying to find comfort they were close. They were my babies that I shared with my wife. I don't know how she has kept it together since they were taken. I finally fall asleep to the sound of the wind on the grass. The next morning all we can do all day is wait. It was nice to hear all of the children laughing, I couldn't wait to add my twins to the group. We wait all day until the sun starts to set.
Before I make my way up the mountain, I go over to Grace and take her in my arms. "You better come back to me and bring our babies with you." "I will do my best." "You promise?" I didn't answer with words, I answered with a kiss. We were on the other side of the RV as I pushed her up against it. We hadn't been together in months. "Go save our babies." I make the hike up the mountain to find the fence that holds the sign. It is locked as I climb over the fence. The sun is getting lower. I walk to the H to find a note "Name the Johnny Cash song that is telling what you are doing right now. You have one minute." What am I doing and goes with Cash Song? A famous song.... I Walk the Line. "I Walk the Line by Johnny Cash" Then I hear a baby crying. I go as fast as I can. I see Henry and Rose but they are on the edge of the D. "Stop, don't go off the ledge!"
