The first night was hell. Every couple of hours we had to wake up for Max. Feeding and changing. Feeding and changing. But I loved every minute of it. We made it to week 4. We did it but this wasn't the end.

Michael and Max are best friends as far as we can tell. The boys were at the studio and Steph gave me Michael while she took a shower. They slept on the bed with pillows wedged next to them. Max liked to suck his thumb while Michael preferred his blanket. I folded laundry and watched scandal. I checked on them every 10 seconds. Noting in those world has ever meant more to me.

Steph and I decided to get lunch and take the babies out. We're not going to let the cameras ruin the day. We bundled them up in jackets and shoes, then we were out the door.
"It is so nice to get out of the house." I say.
"Tell me about it. I can't believe you had to stay in the hospital for as long as you did. I was out by morning."
"Let's just say-"
"We're not having another kid." We said in unison. We chuckled as I pulled out of the driveway at the same time the boys were coming home.
"Where you guys going?"
"Why are you home?"
"We missed the boys." Niall says from the backseat.
"Lunch." I say.
"I'll take the boys if you take them tonight." He says.
"Deal!" Steph says.

So this wasn't the boys first appearance but Steph and I finally got out.
"I can't believe you're getting married in a few months."
"We wanted to wait for Michael to get a little older."
"Yeah. Our leap year babies." We chuckled. Her phone chimed.
"Who is it?" I asked as I eat a bite of my sandwich.
"My mum." She types back. "She wants me to come over tonight with Louis and Michael."
"So no girls night in?"
"Sorry." She grinned.
"That's ok. Max and I will be fine."
"I'm sorry Mara."
"It's ok. Your mum wants to see you guys. It's been a while anyways."
"Maybe you could go to Joice's."
"Yeah she'll be out tonight. It's Saturday."
"Cam?"
"Her anniversary is today."
"Are you for real?"
"Yeah."
"Just go out with Gemma." I shrugged. "What now?"
"We're polar opposites."
"Fine you and Max have a nice movie and milk night."
"Steph that was weird."
"I know."
"Don't say that again."
"Yup."

We went to a fitting for Steph's dress. When she came out she looked stunning.
"You know Mara, I will never understand why you wouldn't want to get married." I gulped.
"It's just not for me."
"Well Harry loves you and that's what matters." I smiled as she spun in the mirror.
"We should get home."

At home the babies were balling.
"What did you do?" I ask sarcastically as I take Max from Harry's arms.
"We'll see, I don't have boobs." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Sure." I sat on the couch.
"How was it?" He asks as he slouches next to me.
"Good. We went to Nandos and the bridal store."
"What did you do at the bridal store?"
"Steph had a fitting."
"We need to start working out so we fit in our dresses." Steph says.
"Oh yeah." I say. I dreaded working out.
"It's just you 3 tonight." Louis says.
"What?" Niall asks.
"Going to the future in laws." He joked.
"Let me know if you survive." Liam says. Just then there was a knock at the door.
"Got it." Niall opened he door. A girl stood there. He shut the door behind him.
"Come on in! We got frozen milk and diapers!" Liam yells.
"Don't blow it for him." Steph says. He laughs and lays back in the chair.

After dinner the guys were about to leave. Harry walked into he kitchen after giving Max a bath. We was wrapped up in a towel.

"I love you

"I love you." He kissed me bridge throwing a jacket over his shoulder.
"Love you too." He left the room with Liam. Niall fixed his hair in the hall mirror.
"Don't let Harry get too drunk." I told him.
"I won't let anything bad happen. He loves you and he'll keep his hands to himself. After all, he's got a beautiful family at home." I smiled. He kissed Max's head and shut the door.
"It's just me and you now, Bub."

After Max went down I started on some work. I needed to catch up. I worked on wedding favors for Louis and Steph. They were little handmade boxes that we would put homemade French macaroons in and tiny Champaign bottles that had ribbon tied around them.

I didn't get many done because Max woke up every 10 minutes I'm sure. This time I couldn't get him to go back down. He was crying continually and constantly. I had a headache and I'm sure he did too. It hurt when he cried. I wanted him to be happy but everything I did only seamed to make it worse. Soon we were both crying. I wanted Harry here. Better yet, I wanted mom here.

Nothing helped

Nothing helped. I resorted to dad.
"Hey baby girl!" He said.
"He won't stop crying!" I cried.
"Max?"
"And me." He took a deep breath.
"David was the same way."
"He still is." I joked.
"David loved being rocked outside and being sang to."
"Harry's not here. It's just me."
"Then you've got to take the reins on this one honey."
"I can't sing."
"You may not be an VMA performer or a album producer like the boys but you have a voice Mara, use it."

I rocked Max back at forth singing Heart Like Your's by Willamette Stone. And it worked. Grandpa to the rescue.
