I laid on the couch, staring into the light as there was nothing better to do to waste the time that went by as slowly as it could.  Tamarah laying on me, her arms wrapped around me, asleep, i played with her hair every now and again, then smoothing it back into place.

The song changed on the record, she had put it on, her favourite album of Queen. The clicking begun, killer queen filled the room as it begun to play softly in the background and my voice begun to sing, how i hated listening to my voice alone.  I traced her jaw line gently, trying not to wake her up by my touch.

“she keeps a Moet et Chandon, in her pretty cabinet”

I mumbled to myself, adjusting her so i could carry her to our room. She stirred though not completely waking up and begun her soft snoring. Her hair draped over my arms, swaying as i made my way up the stairs, the music humming away, the light giving me a headache, so it was good to get away from the change of scene even if it is momentarily.

I laid her down on our Chippendale bed suit, she curled up instantly, grabbing a pillow i laid it underneath her head so she wouldn’t end up waking with a stiff neck, because that is just horrible.  I covered her with the sheet, not the blanket, it was awfully humid for a winter blanket and its horrid waking up in a cool sweat when you have just had an amazing sleep.

I watched her sleep as i walked backwards out of the room, how peaceful she looked when she was asleep and calm, nothing to worry about, not a thing on her mind, just sleep. I closed the door gently behind me, a door slammed open as i was about to walk down the stairs, but instead i decided to lean on the banister and watch him, he was such an interesting man this late at night.

He scuttled over towards his personal bar, grabbing out a bottle of vodka and cracking the lid off. The pop and fizz of the bottle opening filling the enclosed room, hanging his head back he sighed and took a swing at his drink.

Nothing was happening, all he ended up doing was ruffling his fingers through his blonde hair, completely unaware of my presence on the level above watching down on him, contemplating whether or not to make myself known to him or not, i stood there for what seemed like an eternity watching him drinking before i actually did something.

 “Roger dear, your back”

I announced, his hands stumbled with his grasp around the bottle, allowing it to drop and smash on the floor, though on the plus side i guess it was a good thing it was empty and not on the carpet, that would be hell to clean up and get every little fragment of glass before everyone wakes up.

He glanced up in my direction, smirked and went to get a bag to put the glass in. He didn’t look too impressed at my appearance, i think he was hoping no one would be awake to catch him out, normally we are all awake awaiting a call from the hospital telling us he is back in there, so today was a surprise in itself as he hadn’t ended up there for once, which only happened on rare occasions when he walked through the apartment door alone without someone like Brian or John who had picked him up.

‘Give me a bloody heart attack why don’t you Fred”

He said, chuckling to himself, finding somewhat humour in what he had just said, it was uncommon to see Roger in such a state, he would usually be on one of his rampages, not so much carefree, if it had been earlier that he had smashed that bottle who knows how bad his temper would have been, it always changed, on minute he will be fine the next he would be completely changed, as if one had flicked a switch on him.

Which was one of the reasons why everyone had to be careful around Roger, its unknown when he is going to be dangerous, like today, you would never have expected him to act n such a way about a song, generally he would have taken it calmly and forgot about the whole thing and continue with life, but no one likes the new Roger, this has been going on for a couple of months and everyone was sick of it, Jo just happened to snap today, seeing Brian in a state like that didn’t help the situation for her very much, she was very protective of Brian just as he was of her and he would want no harm to come to her, he would be torn apart if anything did happen to her in the way that he was injured.
