Chapter 12: Learn To Forgive And Forget

Love is not how you forget, but how you forgive. Not how you listen, but how you understand. Not what you see, but how you feel and not to let go but how to hold on.

Forgiving Liam shouldn't be this hard. I now know and understand that what he said was just an accident. We're all humans, so of course we're gonna make mistakes. Maybe I just took it so hard because no one ever knew about John, so to use it against me was just a huge blow to my mindset about him. I know Liam didn't mean it.

We had been through too much in only a matter of 2 weeks and so I can understand why Liam had been leading me on. He just felt bad for me. I know I was falling for him however, not only because he saved my life, but just the way he is. He's funny, sweet, kind, caring, and just overall authoritative when it comes to the ones he cares about most. I'm not mad at him anymore. That's why I'm here now. Apologizing for my childish behavior.

"I'm sorry I was being immature and didn't let you explain. I was just upset." I said to the disheveled man in front of me.

"Why are you apologizing? If anything, I should be the one apologizing! I'm so sorry I said what I did but I assure you Jessie it mean't nothing. I was just mad at myself for leading you on and lying to you that I just took it out on you when I shouldn't have. And I'm so sorry for my actions."

"Liam," I sighed, "It wasn't all your fault. I should've just let you explain instead of acting first. And I'm sorry I snapped at you before I left."

"Jess, it's okay. I forgive you. But the question that's killing me is if you forgive me?"

"Of course I forgive you Liam.... You're my best friend. I'm not gonna loose you over a prissy little argument we had."

Liam let out a huge puff of air out of relief. I was relieved as well, but there was one more question I just had to ask.

"Liam, can I just ask you why out of everything, you chose to use the most valuable piece of information I have ever given anyone in my life, against me?"

Liam gave me a sad puppy dog face and sighed.

"Because I knew it would hurt you. And I thought that if I would've been able to get you to be quiet for just a second, I could've explained my unprofessional behaviors and we could've been fine. You would have still been at the concert watching us instead of disappearing for 3 hours. I would've been happy knowing you were okay and everyone could've just enjoyed the rest of the evening. But obviously my 10 second plan didn't work.... and it actually sort of back fired." He chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Yeah... Where's Sophia? I still have to thank her again for watching Jakob for me that day. She's such a sweet girl Liam. Don't let her go Li. She's too good of a person to let go."

He gave me a look I couldn't decode but then he gave me a fake smile and nodded.

"You bet ya! She loves you and Jakob. She was saying something about spending some time with you guys one day when you're free."

I just nodded. It got kinda awkward and I just didn't know what to say anymore.

See, this is what I was afraid of. Me and Liam could talk for hours on end and not get bored and yet here we are barley breathing because it's just different. I need to go before I do something, or say something actually, that I'll regret.

"Well I'm really glad we got all of this cleared up! Now, if you'll excuse me I have a baby to get back to." I giggled.

"Of course! I'm happy as well. I can't stand it when someone is mad at me." I chuckled.

He walked me to the door and we said our goodbyes. At least we still hug. It could be worse I suppose.

When I get to my door, I hear someone roaring like a dinosaur. I laughed and prepare myself for what might be behind it.

When I open it, Louis is on all fours, in green paint and a dinosaur onesie slowly approaching Jakob as he crawls like a turtle. Niall and Harry are on my computer and Zayn is filming Louis 'chase' Jakob

"What is going on in here?!" I scream playfully. Everybody turns to look at me and Jakob is the first to look happy to see me.

"Mumma Jessy!!" He squeals as he slowly crawls over to me. Zayn is still filming by the time I pick him up and start swinging him around and throwing him up in the air. When I calm down, all the boys are looking at us, smiling. Well Louis is visibly red even under all the green paint he has on his face.

"Lou..... Why do you look like the dinosaur on the TV?" I ask referring to Rex in Toy Story that is playing on my DVD player.

"Well, haha, you see.... Jakob told me it was Halloween and he wanted me to dress up as the dino on TV. So I just did what he wanted me to."

"Oh really. Jakob actually said dinosaur when even though he could barely say bananas?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

We all laughed and I hugged all the boys. We all sat down and I told the boys how it went with Liam. We eventually just ended up finishing watching Toy Story. As I looked at everyone, I was happy to see us all here, hanging out. Everyone was happy, but the only person missing was Liam. I couldn't help but feel saddened that Liam would probably have to drop all of our group activities together because he would most likely spend them with Sophia.

Zayn nudged me. "Hey kiddo, you okay?" I gave him the fakest smile.

"Of course Z!" He just smiled uneasily and turned to the TV.

No Zayn. I'm not okay. And you out of all people should know why that is.

Hey guys! I know it's been a couple of days since I've updated but I have tomorrow's chapter ready to go just a few edits and it will be up soon!
