Chapter 11: There Comes A Day

I probably look like a freak. I'm literally just sitting here, talking to a rock.

"Or what about the time we were wrapping presents for my boss' Christmas party! It was like, what? 12:00am and we were still wrapping? Then, I let my bunny out of the cage and you started talking to him and kept asking if he would be your friend! Remember?!" I burst into hysterics again. I remember that night clearly. But, it just seemed like so long ago when in reality it was barely gonna be a year since.

I calmed down from my laughing fits and looked at the rock that bared his name, birth - death dates, and a little message.

February 7, 1993 - March 27, 2013

I traced every phrase, every word, every letter, and every period with my finger. A smile came to my lips as I remember when John always would tell me this quote. He knew the thing by heart and I honestly couldn't blame him for loving it so much.

I sighed and pulled my finger away from his grave. Now I was just staring at it. There's been this weight on my chest ever since he died. I think now would be the time to get that weight lifted.

"I miss you. I miss your stupid jokes and your pancakes. I miss when you'd play your guitar and write songs. I miss when you'd always pick fights with me about which superhero is better; Batman or Superman. I miss when you'd always burn food when you'd try to cook dinner. I miss when you'd always suggest movie nights. I miss when you'd always try your hardest to get me to smile." I sighed. "John, I miss...... you." That's when the water works decided to join the party. I sobbed, screamed, and wailed for about a good half an hour until I realized something.

He would probably hate me right now, considering the way I'm acting.

"John, I know you're watching over me. I know Ms. Reeds is up there with you and I know you two are Jakob's and I's guardian angels. I know for a fact you are looking down at me right now and probably saying, 'Suck it up!'." I chuckled sadly.

"So, I guess you guys already know about the lads?" I laughed. Not just chuckled, I did a full on laugh. "What do you think of them? Nutty aren't they?" I sighed.

"But they take care of us. They're great lads at heart John. You would've loved 'em! You guys would've gotten on so well. Especially you and Lou. I worry about him sometimes. He's gonna get himself hurt one day. Always the one goofing off." I giggled.

"Zayn reminds me so much of you. He's wise and gives the best advice. Harry's a good lad, but I know to go to him when I want dating advice." I laughed. "He's got quite the way with the ladies so I think I can learn something from him. Something he could've taught you more in as well. Now Niall....... Niall's one of the sweetest lads I've ever met. He's so innocent, I don't think he's ever even killed a fly. He's the one you go to if you just need a well appreciated Horan Hug or just need someone to hang out with."

I stared off in the distance before continuing my next statement.

"Liam is a kind lad. He's caring, loving, accepting, understanding.... He's basically got all the pluses a guy could get. He's definitely a keeper. Hopefully Sophia just won't drop him like a boy toy." I sighed and looked at my brother's grave once again.
