Noelle's POV
I wondered what to do as I sat on my couch and aimlessly scrolled through my phone, I had some work to do but I'd finished it and now I was bored to death.
I had settled my meeting with Uncle Xavier, he made a couple of changes but it didn't take that long. The design looked amazing, we were gonna start the construction work of the hotel from next week.
My mind went to the guy that I met today. Stephen Hendry. To think that he was Uncle Xavier's nephew was shocking news to me. He seemed alright, I knew that I'd see him more often now because I was still working for them and after all he was gonna run the business.
Now the reason why Lucy, Uncle Xavier's daughter wasn't gonna take over was because she was interested in journalism and being the great father, he let her do whatever she wanted. There had to be someone who would take care of the business after Uncle retired so that's where Stephen comes in.
I really hoped he didn't do a crappy job because their company had a big name. He was definitely a stranger to me but still I had some information regarding him. Uncle Xavier had talked about his nephew to me but I hadn't known who it actually was until now.
Stephen was from London, his Dad used to run the branch over there but then his sister took over and as far as I knew, she was doing a great job. If I remember correctly she was three or four years older than him. He was asked to come here so that he could learn a little from his Uncle and then finally take over because Lucy was the only child that Uncle had and well she... I already explained that. So that's some of the information that I had about him.
I really didn't bother to know more because it wasn't like we were gonna become best friends and plus I was the kinda person who kept to my own business. The less people I let in, the better.
I stood up from the couch and walked towards the hallway where all the rooms were hidden behind huge shelves. This area was my favorite part in my whole house. I had a hallway where there were shelves running from the ceiling to the floor. Now if you just walked through that hallway you wouldn't know what was so special about it but behind those shelves were rooms that were used for different purposes. You had to push the shelf really hard to enter the room.
I had 4 such rooms, 2 on each side and right now I was heading to the one with all my books and vinyls in there. I had a massive collection of books because I really loved reading and also vinyls from my favorite artists, I adored the way they sounded.
I pushed the shelf and entered the room. I made my way to the vinyls and picked out AM by Arctic Monkeys, not their best album but I loved it anyway. I pulled it out of the sleeve and set it in the record player. It started playing while I sat down on the couch and relaxed.
I loved coming in this room because it had everything that meant a lot to me. Music had always been a huge part of my life and books were literally the best thing that ever happened to me. I had been reading since a very young age, don't really remember how I picked it up though. Music and books had always been there for me when no one else was.
I jerked a little bit when I heard my phone ringing, I quickly ran out to the living room and answered it.
"Hey, what's up? I'm really bored so you should come over," I heard Kathy's voice from the other side.
"Well to be honest I'm bored too, I'll be there in a few," I said while going back to the room and switching the record player off. I sat down on the couch again.
"Bring some good movies if you have any, see ya," she said before hanging up.
I rolled my eyes and didn't move an inch from the couch. Honestly now that I thought about it, I was too lazy to even stand up much less drive to her place. I sat there just staring at all of my books before groaning and finally standing up. I shut the room and made my way to the main door, grabbing my keys and purse on the way.
