"Are you fucking crazy?" I practically screamed.
"Would you just calm down? Stop fucking yelling," she glared at me.
I had no idea that her definition of fun meant jumping out of a window.
We stood in front of a large window that was on the top floor of her apartment building. It was through the stairways and she was basically forcing me to climb out of it.
"I'm not gonna fucking jump out. I don't wanna die just yet," I argued while crossing my arms over my chest.
"Are you dumb? You don't have to jump you idiot. There's a cantilever out there where you can go and sit. Stop being a pussy," she narrowed her eyes at me and looked at me unbelievably.
"If you're so unbothered why don't you go on first?" I raised an eyebrow and moved out of the way so that she could climb out.
"Fine you little wuss," she grabbed the frame of the window and threw one of her legs out on the other side. She sat in the middle before lifting her other leg and jumping down outside the building.
I immediately ran up to the window to see her standing there on the cantilever that she had told me about. She turned around to face me and smiled.
"Happy?" she smiled sarcastically, "Now your turn."
I sighed before mimicking her moves and sitting on the window frame so that I faced her.
"Come on Stephen, I promise I won't let you die," she extended her arm out to me and I grabbed it before jumping down right next to her. "Not so bad was it?" she smiled at me.
"Sure," I rolled my eyes.
She let go of my hand and sat down at the edge of the cantilevered structure. I don't even know what it was supposed to be called so I just settled with roof. It wasn't huge but neither was it small. You could walk around it but you'd have to be careful in order to not fall off. The ground was clean and if I guessed right, it was made up of concrete.
She looked up at me and pat the spot next to her. I slowly moved to where she was and sat down, letting my legs hang off of the roof. It was scary but the view was worth it.
"It's beautiful," I said softly. It just didn't feel right to speak loudly.
"I know. I like coming up here or even going up to the roof," she mumbled.
There was a long silence after that and surprisingly it didn't feel weird or awkward. It was comfortable. Just sitting there next to her on a goddamn roof felt good.
The sky was clear and bright. The sun shining through the clouds although there weren't many. It was starting to get more warmer every single day. It was gonna be July soon and that was for sure gonna be the hottest month. I didn't really like the heat but I didn't mind it all that much either.
I looked beside me and saw that Rose was engrossed in her thoughts. She was looking out at the sky and sat perfectly still. Her hair covered the side of her face but I could see her forehead scrunched up telling me that she was deeply thinking about something. I continued looking at her and slowly saw a small smile forming on her face.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," she smirked without looking at me.
I smiled and sneakily got my phone out of my pocket and quickly snapped her picture. She must have heard the sound of the click because she turned to me and looked at me surprisingly.
"Did you just--," she didn't even finish her sentence and just shook her head at me.
"Yes I did," I smiled like an idiot.
