Me and Katherine sat there on the chairs while Stephen walked over to us and smiled. I was pretty sure Kathy was freaking out right now just by seeing him. I really didn't understand what was so daunting about this guy. He seemed alright and he didn't even say much. Maybe it was his tattoos, I honestly had no idea.
"Hello ladies," he stood in front of us while looking between me and Kathy.
Guess I would have to be the one to introduce them after all. I was in no mood to be nice right now so if he didn't go in a little bit, he was gonna see my moody and rude side. I didn't care.
"Hey Stephen, what brings you here on such a lovely day?" I tried to smile and raised my eyebrows.
"Nothing particularly, I just saw you guys hanging out here so thought I'd come say hi," he pulled a chair and sat directly in front of us.
Umm if he just wanted to say hi why the fuck would he pull a chair and sit down? Get going boy.
"Oh that's nice, you said your hi so you can go now," I said while smiling.
He shaked his head and looked at Kathy. I rolled my eyes. The poor girl might just die of heart attack if he even tried to talk to her. But of course that's exactly what he does.
"Don't think we've met yet, I'm Stephen James, Xavier Walker's nephew," he said while extending his hand out.
"Katherine Edwards," she said and shook his hand. I was impressed to be honest, she didn't stutter or shake. If she was scared by him, she sure as hell did a great job at hiding it.
"His last name's Hendry not James," I said while looking at Kathy. "You hate your last name so much that you just use your middle name instead? Shame," I remarked and shook my head at Stephen. I don't know why but I just wanted to get on his nerves so that he would go.
Kathy looked at me with wide eyes. I knew she would run now. Pussy.
"Hey guys um I think I forgot my phone upstairs, I'll get it and come back," she stood up and started walking.
I rolled my eyes. What did I tell you? I knew her too well. Her flight mode kicked in so she chickened out before things went wrong. Why was she so scared?
"She's not coming back," I stated and looked at Stephen.
He smiled at me and moved where Kathy was sitting, right next to me. Can't he just go and leave me alone?
"I could tell, she's intimidated by me," he stretched out his legs and leaned back on the chair.
"Honestly I don't even understand what's so intimidating about you," I shrugged and looked out at the pool.
"Might have something to do with all the tattoos on my body and probably how I look? To be honest I don't know either," he sounded quite unsure himself. I wanted to laugh.
"Tattoos are not daunting. Maybe you just give off that kinda vibe, who knows?" I defended.
"Katherine might know, anyways do you have any tattoos?" he looked at me and raised his eyebrow.
"None of your business," was all I said. He probably figured that I did have them because I defended it.
"Fair enough, you know I'm not the only one people are intimidated by," he looked at me suggestively.
"I'm not intimidating, I'm the nicest person you'll ever come across," I rolled my eyes. I knew I was daunting, he wasn't the first one to tell me. But the thing was, I always tried to be nice and kind to people unless they tried to mess with me.
"You're not being nice right now and you just have that air of mystery and confidence to yourself," he scrunched up his eyebrows as if he was thinking about something.
That's when I actually properly noticed him. He had brown hair that was styled to perfection, his electrifying green eyes were looking out at the pool. He had the both sides of his nose pierced and surprisingly it looked really good on him. He had high cheekbones that any girl would be jealous of and a well defined jaw. His heart shaped lips were the perfect shade of pink and he had a little stubble around his chin that made him look hot. His tattoos stopped just around his neck and honestly I had never seen someone look so strikingly handsome. I could tell he had a fit body by the muscles that were peeking out of the sleeves of his grey t-shirt.
He was attractive but right now that didn't matter because he was irritating me and I just wanted him to go.
"I'm in no mood to socialize and you're getting on my nerves," I said while switching my gaze and looking at my hands.
"Now now that's no way to talk to your boss, is it?" his eyes danced with amusement.
"Look you're not my fucking boss, as far as I know you don't own that company and your Uncle who really likes me, is the one running it. I don't work for your ass, I work for him," I glared at him.
"I'm gonna own and also run that company very soon, mind you," he said calmly.
What really pissed me off was that he didn't seem fazed by my remarks at all. He just sat there looking all calm and collected. I wanted him to get mad and walk away. Why couldn't he get mad or just leave. Fucking hell.
"How unfortunate! The company's gonna go down real soon, that sucks," I said trying to irk him.
"Say whatever you want but I know what I'm capable of, you don't know how it's all gonna work," he seemed just a little bit irritated. I smiled.
"I know a lot more than you think. Let me tell you, you're here to learn from your Uncle and once you do that and he's satisfied with you only then you'll take over for him. That company isn't yours for a long time," I gave him a challenging look.
He seemed surprised. He definitely didn't think that I would've known all of that but oh boy I knew a lot more. I knew that he would actually own that company soon enough because he used to help his Dad and sister back in London and also he had studied business from a really good university, I couldn't exactly remember the name. He was really good at handling everything and honestly I didn't doubt him, I just wanted him to get out of my hair.
"That company is gonna be mine real quick and I'll handle it all very well. You have no idea," he said confidently and stood up.
Finally! Oh my goodness thank the lord! Guess I got on his nerves as well but at least I got what I wanted. I smiled at him.
"All the best Stephen," I sincerely meant it. I knew he wouldn't ruin it. Uncle Xavier had told me so much about his nephew and never in a million years would I have ever thought that it'd be this guy standing right in front of me. Uncle had a lot of faith in Stephen and honestly even I hoped for the best.
"Thank you. By the way, forget my last name and even I know a lot more than you think, Rose," he emphasized on the name and walked away.
The smile disappeared from my face and I sat there looking at his retreating figure while my eyes widened and my heart started beating fast. I tried to control my breathing and told myself to calm down so that I wouldn't go into a panic mode. How the fuck did he know? Was he involved with any of that shit? God I had to speak with Blake as soon as possible and inform Kathy too. I composed myself as quickly as I could and stood up to go back to Kathy's suite.
