Shadow (TWD Carl)

~Chapter 30~

"They think they're in control. We're in here and they could be anywhere. But we know exactly where they are." Rick tries to clear the situation about Gareth up.

"Plan's got stones, I'll give you that." Abraham peaks up.

"Make our move before they do." Glenn included.

"That's right. They're not counting on us thinking straight." Rick added.

"Are we? I'm just making sure. It's a big play." Rosita said.

"Remember what these people are capable of."

I spotted Tyreese by himself on a bench far away from the group and walked over to him without disturbing the others. "Hey Tyreese. You up for this? You look a little out of it." He didn't respond and only looked up to me. Sasha walked through the doors and Tyreese stared at her worriedly.

"I'm going with you." She states.

"You should stay with Bob."

"No, I want to be out there. I want to be a part of this." Tyreese stands up and walks over to her and they discuss things in Bob's resting room.

The others had decided that Jack, Rick, Michonne, Sasha, Glenn and Maggie were to go for the search. I kind of wanted to go too but I needed to spend some time with Kira and let Jack do his thing. It's been a rough time since the prison and I think I should mend the bond I seemed to have lost with her. I'll fix the relationship Jack and I have later though. He needs to concentrate on his task. The six leave and we were left by ourselves.

Kira has always wanted to learn how to draw so I guess that'd be a good place to start. I toddle over to her after fetching a bunch of papers and a few drawing utensils. She was currently sitting on the bench next to Judith. Gabriel found a basket to place her in and we found it pretty much perfect for her.

"Ayo Kira."

"Sup."

"I know it's been a while since we last played together and I wanted to make it up to you. So..." I show her the things I collected and her eyes lit up from the empty nature they were in before. "How about we become artists for the day?"

"Hell yeah! Oh my gawd. I've wanted to do this since forever." She grabs a few pieces of paper and takes a pencil and eraser from my hand.

"What do you want to draw first?" I sit down on the other side of Judith and get the pencil in my hand, getting ready to show her techniques.

"Can we draw Twilight Sparkle?"

"Sure. I'm surprised you can even remember My Little Pony."

I show her how to draw the base of her drawing and slowly teach her the strokes she needed to use in order to draw her favourite protagonist. A shadow invaded my vision while we were adding the finishing touches and I leaned back to see Carl looking at the drawing. "You guys are really good at drawing. If I was into MLP I might have stolen the drawings from you both." He smirked and took Judith from her basket. He gave her a bottle and she gulped all of the contents down at once.

"Thanks. Kira's doing really well for her first time drawing Twilight." I look over to Kira and watch her concentrate real hard on the drawing. She was never the best drawer but she did a really good job today. "I'm happy that she's enjoying herself. With everything that has been going on, I haven't given her enough sisterly attention and I feel really bad about it."

"It's good to see you both enjoying yourself. You know, you don't always have to participate in fights Shadow. You can stay back and protect Kira. You don't always have to be a hero. I had to learn that the hard way."
