I opened the door to the house as the other two went in theirs. Inside was an empty hallway leading to three other areas. I turned to my left as I entered the house to see a dining room. It was pretty empty, but I was thankful that it only had what was needed. I turned back to walk into the room on the right. This room was a lounge room, holding a TV, two lounge chairs, a couch and a fireplace with a grandfather clock. As I was about to leave the room, I noticed a record player to my right which surprised me by a long shot.
"I haven't seen one of these since I was 10. Wow..." I wanted to look at the albums that were available for us, but decided to continue searching the house.
At the end of the hall, there was a slight elevation with stairs but it only led to a small room that looked onto the garden. There were also two doors that gave you entrance to the back garden. To the right of the room was an archway that led into another lounging area and the kitchen, which was just to the left of the room. There was a small elevated garden that was accessible from the kitchen and seemed to be for growing fruit and vegetables. In the second lounge room, there were a set of stairs that led to the second floor, just next to the door to the bathroom.
On the second floor, there was a small study and library that connected to a hallway which led to a master bedroom and a games room. Two more bedrooms were accessible from the games room, as well as a balcony which overlooked the area.
I decided that I was going to take the master bedroom as I could keep an eye on the front of the house from there. I looked out the window and watched as Kira and Jack, with the rest of the group, were finally brought over to the houses. All of them looked astounded with the accommodation and their mouths were all left slightly opened in amazement.
I chuckled quietly and ran downstairs to greet the others before leading Jack and Kira inside the house we claimed. As the two went to check the house, I went up to the bedroom and into the bathroom it connected to. I looked at the shower and slowly turned the handle for the hot water, hoping that the water would come rushing down.
Within milliseconds of turning it, hot water sprayed out of the shower head and I grinned at the heavenly liquid before me. I was going to put my hand under it but as I saw the steam, I realized that I should turn the cold water on and try not to burn myself.
I turned the water off and went to check if there were any clothes in the house. I opened the wardrobe in the bedroom to see multiple sizes of clothing, several of the items fit my size perfectly. I took a tank top, track pants and a pair of high tops that were hiding in the back of the closet.
I walked back into the bathroom and had the most relaxing shower anyone could have asked for.
After my shower, I washed my old clothes in the sink with soap and used a hair dryer that I found under it to dry them. When my under garments were finally dry, I dressed myself in the clothes I had found. I was surprised to know that there was electricity, but knew that if the water was running, and we had TVs and lights, the community was sure to have generators somewhere.
I looked at myself in the mirror, noting how pale I looked along with my messy, tangled hair. I could care less about my skin, I had been through so much that it would obviously look beaten, tired and scarred. Instead of checking the rest of my skin, I searched the cabinets to find a brush and luckily found one in the end. I brushed through the matted hair, wincing in pain if I tugged too hard.
It took a long time, but I finally managed to get through it all, watching as my long hair fell just below my waist. My hair has grown really long, my god... but, it needs to be cut. This... I picked up a bunch of my hair before letting it slide back down to where it belonged. Is dangerous...
