My eyelids fluttered open and my mouth widened into a yawn. I sat up slowly and stretched my body to get it warmed up for the day. I looked around the room, watching as everyone was sleeping. I noticed two people missing from their spots they had been in the night before. Maggie...Sasha?

The storm had managed to pass and we all grew tired quickly due to the amount of energy we exerted to keep the place safe. As the wind weakened and walkers had become no longer a threat, we all started to rest while one person kept watch on us.

I looked to my right and noticed Carl was curled up in his sleep, and getting a little too close to me. His hair looks so nice, I kinda want to touch it...Before I knew what my body was doing, I had lifted my hand and began brushing it through Carl's hair. It was soft and silky, and the more I played with it the less I wanted to let it go.

His body started to move under my touch and I retracted my hand, hoping he or anyone else didn't catch me. You're such a creep Tyrian...His eyes slowly opened and he blinked at me, wondering what I was doing. I gave him a small smile as I proceeded to stand up. "Good morning." I greeted him.

Carl groaned as he stretched and yawned back "good morning Tyrian."

I flinched slightly while trying to readjust my clothes but brushed it off. I swear I'll never get used to this.... "I'm going to go check on things outside, you coming?"

"Yeah, sure." We both headed towards the barn door and stepped foot outside. The place was a disaster.

Torn walkers were scattered everywhere and branches had broken, falling onto the wet, muddy ground beneath the tree it came from. The sun beamed down onto my skin, warming me from the terribly cold night we dealt with. "Tyrian," Carl called out. "Look here."

I walked over to Carl who was hunching over the lower half of a walker. I knelt to look at what Carl had found. "You wanted something for Kira to keep her safe, right?" He reached for the pocket on the walker's pants, pulling out what I deemed to be a ballistic knife. My eyes lit up and I wrapped my arms around Carl's shoulders in happiness and relief.

"Thank God you have amazing eyes. This would be perfect for her." I let go as he handed me the knife. "I'm sure she'll be really pleased about this."

"You're going to have to teach her how to use it though." He chuckled before continuing. "Let's just hope she doesn't get too excited and completely ignore everything you teach her."

"Knowing her, she'll do exactly that." After sharing a few laughs, we went back inside the barn. Carl went off to deal with Judith with his dad, I went to check on Kira and Jack. The two only seemed to be just waking up when I had reached them, as if they sensed my presence and knew that it was best not to deal with me as their alarm clock. "Morning guys."

"Morning..." they both mumbled back. I looked behind me, realizing that Maggie and Sasha weren't back yet. Where are they? I turned back to the two dreary eyed beings in front of me.

"Kira, Carl found something for you." I opened my hand to her and showed her the ballistic knife. "Don't you think it's about time that I teach you how to defend yourself properly?"

It took a few moments before I could see her eyes light up with joy. "Are you serious?!" She exclaimed.

I nodded my head in response and helped her get up after placing the knife in her hands. "Hey!" I gazed over to my brother and laughed when I saw his face. He had a large frown with his brows furrowed. "Don't I get anything?"
