Nomas grew cold in the evening, even with the constant fighting his body wasn't keeping him warm enough. His chest and arms were soaked with blood as he sat against the wall of the arena looking at the trio of wolves he had just defeated.
His body was covered in cuts and bruises and he was having trouble telling the what blood was his and which wasn't. At this point, his body was shutting down. Without being able to change his wounds weren't healing and he couldn't risk another transformation with his body this weak. His head was spinning and he was already starting to worry that he truly wouldn't get out alive.
Above him was only a single man, the lion walking along the bottom rung with his hands tucked behind his back. The aura of confidence still exuded from him as his slow steps brought him towards the man. "You did well."He said with his low voice carrying far in the empty arena.
"Thank you. But you expected me to hold my own here. I can see it in your eyes." Nomas said with a frown plastered across his face.
He nodded slowly. "That was to be expected. Little here could be a true challenge to a pure bred." The voice came slowly as if he was placing his words carefully. "Or an Omnia." He said with a scowl as Nomas looked up with a cool smile.
"You knew." He said with a smug tone. "I was beginning to worry you hadn't found out yet." Nomas began to follow the man as he kept his slow stroll as he passed Nomas.
"I am the first chair of the council, I know everything. We knew during the first fight, no one can fight like that unless they have more than one animal in pure understanding. There was a reason you chose Festus over all others. You knew how to counter the falcon, every move he made you avoided with ease."
THe lion let the smile curl out from behind his mask, he knew he had struck a powerful nerve against the shifter whose pace sped up with each word. Nomas' facade though remained strong, he stare at the man walking ahead of his. His paws stepping quietly into the stone making no noise making it harder for Nomas to be able to tell where he was in the moonless evening.
Nomas' tail flung behind him quickly and with great anger making each stride harder. "You think I care?" Nomas asked with a frown as he overtook the man and stare hard into the deep green eyes that shined in the darkness. "I know you are one, as well as Ouroboros."
The man laughed slightly. "I did not deny that. But you are the one who seems to hold powers far beyond ours. And I am willing to bet your fathers holds the same within his soul. It makes him powerful, but also incredibly volatile. It makes me wonder how your bloodline is so pure."
"You seem so calm about it." Nomas muttered with a frown as he stared up at the man. Few words could describle what happened whrn a shifter had an outburst, fewer still could explain when an Omnia lost control. With the power of whatever it wished few people could stand against it and those who could were long since dead.
He laughed. It was a hearty one, one Nomas had heard several times in his time on the council. Not once though, had it meant anything good. "Nomas, we are already working hard to stop it, to stop him." e said with a powerful tone. Nomas sighed looking at his bloody hands.
"I know what you mean. But I promise you Solaris, Nomas is not like other shifters you have hunted. He is not going to last long, his mind is on the verge of breaking and there is going to be nothing you can do to stop him. Even the Embers will struggle to contain him for long. They risk their lives with every moment he is within earshot."
The man's gaze returned to the lion. Nodding slowly Solaris took a seat on one of the benches. "Should that happen we will send you. I've already convinced the other memebers that either way we lose an enemy and weaken another. He said with a sigh. "You know I liked you. Yes men get boring very quickly. You were the only..." The voice ran short as the lion's body convulced once in anger.
