Chapter 9

Sitting in the middle of the food court with Sage had to have been the highlight of my day.

"French fry?" he offered, flinging one into the air and letting it drop into his mouth. He spoke to me with so much confidence, he trusted me. And i don't know why, but i feel like i can trust him. For a while, we spoke about different kinds of French fries and why they're so delicious but i couldn't keep a straight face when he made a French fry mustache!

I giggled, "What is it with your friends, they seem so...mean, and you're so sweet."

"Mean? Really?" he laughed at my choice of words, " They're not mean, they're just misunderstood."

"You're right," i said, giving up," I don't understand them."

I looked up from my box of French fries and i caught Sage deep in thought. His eyes were distant, as if he were having a flash back. Then his face turned soft.He let out a long sigh.

"You know Taylor, and now you know me," he said gazing into my eyes," but you don't know the other guys or what they've been through."

I knew he was telling the truth, i didn't know them and i didn't have to. I looked down at my watch, it was just after 6.

"I should get going," i gasped shoving my last fry into my mouth. "Need a ride?" i asked.

As we drove out of the parking lot of CarrTryt Mall, Sage directed me to where i should drop him off. It was in the park, in the middle of Crysdale.

"See you tomorrow," he said.

"sounds like you've made plans without me?" i teased, he laughed as he shut the passenger door. He smiled at me.

"Meet me here, tomorrow at 12pm sharp. come alone" he said, faking a sinister tone.

"Or else what?" I feigned shock, then losing it as i smiled at him.

"I don't like sharing my bestfriend" he said as he walked through the park towards the trees.

He disappeared into the green.

Bestfriends ? I like that....
