I walked to the park, twenty-five minutes after Travis texted me to meet him there.

At the park, I walked around for a bit, but I couldn't find Travis. I looked at my phone. No texts or missed calls from Travis.

"I wonder where he is." I mumbled to myself.

I walked to a park bench and sat down. I tried called Travis but he didn't answer so I put my phone in my pocket. Travis was taking forever, so I decided to looked around me. There were kids running around, laughing, swinging on the swings and having so much fun. A tear escaped my eye and made its way down my cheek. I lifted my hand and wiped the tear away.

'I wish I had this much fun as a kid. But no, instead I had to be a stubborn child who ignored his family and had no friends. Not to mention, no potential future.' I thought to myself.

I tried to stop the tears from falling but that only made more fall. I heard a few footsteps from behind me, but I didn't bother to look behind me, instead I looked to the ground. Soon, I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked up. It was Travis. He looked at my tear stained cheeks and sat down next to me.

"Why are you crying?" Travis asked. I didn't answer and just shook my head.

"Come on Zane. Please tell me."

"No point. I'm over it."

"Fine. Then what were you crying about?"

"I wish I could redo my childhood but in a way to make it better." I said. "I wish I treated my family so much better. Garroth, Vylad, my father and mother. I was a horrible son and brother to all of them."

"Hey. Follow me." Travis said and we both stood up. He took me to a hill with a tree on top of it. We walked under the tree and sat down. It was nice, the wind was blowing ever so gently, the birds were singing and every little problem in the world seemed to disappear. Travis and I started to talk about everything until he stopped talking and turned away from me.

"Travis?" I asked.

"Yes Zane." He answered.

"Are you okay?" I asked him, he turned back to me.

"Zane... When I met you I didn't think that we would be friends and I would never like you." He started. "What I'm trying to say is... Will you go on a date with me?"

"A-A d-date?" My face went red.

"Yup." He said.

"S-Sure." I answered. Travis stood up so I did too. He came closer to me and hugged me. I didn't hesitate to hug him back.

"Thanks for giving me a chance. I'll text you later about what we'll do. Bye!" Travis said and ran off smiling.

"Thanks for asking." I whispered aloud to myself and started to walk home.
