Chapter 20: The Hospital (Part 2)

<Zane's POV>

Garroth, Vylad, Travis, and I finally arrived at the hospital my father was in. It was a thirty minute drive but it felt longer than that. Garroth suggested telling mom about Travis and I, I agreed and so did Travis. 

We walked into the waiting room to be greeted by my mom. She was sitting in a chair and quickly walked over as soon as she saw us.

"Who's this?" She asked, looking at Travis.

"This is Travis. He's wanted to tag along and meet you and father." Garroth answered.

"Oh, well, it's nice to meet you." Mom said.

"It's nice to meet you too, Mrs. Ro'meave." Travis replied.

"Anyway, where's dad?" I asked, not wanting her to ask questions.

"Oh. Right. Come on." She said and took us to father's room.

Travis and I sat in the corner of my father's hospital room, while my mother and two brothers talked. We were waiting for my father to get back from his most recent surgery.

"So, when are you going to tell her?" Travis whispered.

"When my father gets back." I answered.

"Okay." He replied and we went back to sitting in silence, waiting for my dad.

"Mom, dad, I want to tell you both something that's very important." I said. My father has been here for about an hour and he's way better than how he was when he first arrived at the hospital. Silence fell over everyone as I stood at the edge of my fathers bed. The only thing you could hear was the heart monitor, monitoring my father's heart beat.

"Um... Well, I'd like to start by saying that I love you guys and I'm sorry for shutting you guys out as a child. I wish I could turn back time and fix that but I can't. Thank you for staying with me and always being there for me." I looked at my mom and dad, then to my brothers, then back to my mom and dad.

"Sweetie. We will always be here for you and we love you too." My mom said. I felt a small smile appear on my face.

"Second and well final, I'm engaged." I started.

"TO WHO?!?!" My mom excitedly screamed but not to loud.

"To the person who was there for me, when I thought I lost it all..." I turned to Travis and smiled as he smiled back. "Travis."

"Ahh!!!" My mom scream in happiness.

"WHAT?" My father's low voice boomed. I looked back to my father who was clearly NOT happy.

"Dad?" I sadly asked.

"YOU'RE HERE TO TELL ME THAT YOU GETTING MARRIED TO A MALE?" His voice again, boomed throughout the room.

"Y-yes." I stuttered with pure fright in my voice.

"Get out. I don't ever want to see your mistake face again." He said. As he said that tears rolled out of my eyes. Travis came up behind me and hugged me.

"Don't talk to him like that!" My mom snapped.

"No. He's getting married to someone of the same sex. I WILL NEVER LET ANY OF MY CHILDREN DO THAT. HE WAS A MISTAKE FROM THE START ANYWAY." My father snapped back.

"In that case, you lost all of your sons. We're leaving now." Garroth said as he motioned Vylad, Travis, and I to follow him.

"Yeah." Vylad added and we walked out of the room.

My tears started to calm down as we walked outside of the room.

"You didn't have to say that just for me." I said to Garroth and Vylad as I stopped crying as hard.

"I was only saying the truth." Garroth replied and Vylad nodded in agreement.

"Huh?" I asked as I stayed in Travis' arms.

"Yup. Dante and I are dating." Vylad said.

"It's the same with me and Laurance." Garroth added. I smiled and stopped crying. I opened my mouth to say something but the door behind me opened. Mother came out and I ran into her arms.

"I'm so sorry for how he reacted." She said as her arms engulfed me. "Just so you know, I'll always support you, Zane. Always. I love you so much."

"Thank you mom."

"You don't have to thank me, Zane. By the way, your father and I are getting a divorce because of how he treated you. That's no way anyone should talk to anyone no matter who they love."

"Garroth recorded Travis proposing to me, if you want to watch it."

"Of course I want to but first let's go back to your place Zane." She said and let go of me. I went back into Travis' arms.

"Thank you two for sticking up for your brother back there." Mom said to Garroth and Vylad.

"Mom, we were kind of telling him that we were dating someone special as well." Vyald started.

"Who?!" She asked, excited.

"Remember Laurance from high school." Garroth said.

"Garroth's friend, Dante, from high school." Vylad finished.

"I NEED to meet them again!" My mom fangirled.

"Great, just another crazy fangirl to add to the list. Aphmau, Kawaii~Chan and now Mom." I said with a smile. "Let's head back to my place-"

"Our place." Travis added. I looked at him and smiled, then back to my brothers and mom.

"Let's head by to our place before this gets embarrassing." I finished. We all laughed and went back to Travis and my house.
