Chapter 12: Date With Zane

<Travis's P.O.V.>

"Why is this so hard? Zane won't like any of these movies." I groaned as I looked through a list of new movies on a website to the closest theater.

"Need help?" Garroth asked, coming into my room and over to my bed where I was sitting with my laptop.

"Not really but I just need to know what kind of movies Zane likes." I answered. He looked confused.

"Huh? Why?" He asked.

"I uh... Asked him on a date." I said.

"Cool. Oh yeah, I would take him to see something that isn't scary because he'll freak out in the theater and make a huge scene in front of everyone." Garroth said and walked out of my room.

"Well, something scary it is!" I said and booked us the 7:30 show as well as two seats next to each other.

~Time Skip to Travis at Zane's house~

I knocked on Zane's front door.

"One minute!" Zane yelled from inside. He opened the door in his normal clothes.

"Hey Zane. You ready?" I asked.

"Uh, y-yeah. You didn't say where we were going." He replied.

"Oh yeah. We are going to see a movie." I answered, with a smirk. He nodded and we left.

~Time Skip To Movie Theater~

We walked into the theater and got in line for some popcorn. I ordered out tickets online so we don't have to wait in line to get them. The line wasn't too long but it was still annoying because everyone took so long to order what they wanted.

"How long is this going to take?" Zane complained.

"I don't know. Here take your ticket and go find these seats in the theater." I said, while handing him his ticket. He nodded and left.

"Next." The cash register lady called. I was next so I walked up.

"What can I get you, handsome?" She asked in a flirtatious tone. I ignored it.

"Can I have a medium popcorn with a soda please?" I asked.

"Of course. Anything for you." She said and walked off.

'Great. Just great. She's flirting with me and I'm on a date with Zane. At least Zane isn't here to see that.' I thought.

She walked back with the popcorn and soda, that I ordered.

"That will be $15.50." She said. I gave her my gift card for the theater and she took it. The card had just enough money on it, so she just threw it out. I grabbed the popcorn and soda, then turned to go meet Zane.

"My shift is almost over. Maybe we can hangout after." She flirtatiously said.

"Sorry but I'm on a date. Bye." I quickly said and left her.

I looked around the theater Zane was in and couldn't find him. I took another look and found him. He noticed I was walking towards him and smiled.

"What took you so long? The movie is about to start." Zane asked as I sat down next to him. He started to eat the popcorn.

"The line took forever to cut down." I lied. The truth is the cash register kept taking to me, no flirting with me.

"Okay. At least you're here now." Zane said as the movie started. We both immediately looked at the screen. When it started, Zane must have realized that it was a scary movie because he nudged my arm. I ignored him and put my arm around him. Zane quickly laid his head on my chest and continued to watch the movie. The lights were off so I don't have to worry about anyone judging us.
