Chapter 13: Yes or No

<Zane's P.O.V.>

It's been a few weeks since Travis asked me out on our first date. We've gone on a few more since than and I've opened up to him more than I have to Aphmau. Speaking of Aphmau, she and Aaron are returning next week from their honeymoon. Travis told me that Katelyn is throwing a 'Welcome Home Party' when the two get back. Garroth suggested that me and Travis both talk to her about how we can hangout with her. I agreed with him but I think Travis has another plan that he's not telling anyone.

Travis called me this morning and told me to meet him at the park at around 1:00. I'm assuming he means to meet him where he first asked me out. It is now 12:55. I lock my front door and walk to the park with my phone and keys in my pocket.

As I trudge my way up the hill, I see Travis standing there, with his hands in his pockets and looking down. I tried to quietly walk up from behind him and scare him but I stepped on a stick and it broke, causing Travis to turn around and smirk.

"So, why did you want to meet me here?" I asked as I made my way to him.

"How long ago did we first meet each other?" Travis suddenly asks. We're standing face to face but he's a little taller than me so I have to look up to see his whole face.

"Um... A few months ago, when Aphmau was getting married." I said, confused.

"How long ago was it that I first asked you on a date?" He asked.

"About three weeks ago." I answered.

"Zane, when I met you, I had no idea how much you would change my life. You made me realize the dark things in life and how it can so suddenly change you." He paused and stared into my eyes as I did the same. I got lost for a second until him speaking brought me back to reality. "Zane, Will you be my boyfriend?"

I stared at him. I didn't know what to do, what to say, how to act. We stood there in silence for a bit. Until my mouth finally opened.

"Y-Yes. I-I will." I answered. Travis came closer to me, quickly pulling me into a hug. He soon moved his head from my shoulder to my face. He leaned in closer, closing the small gap between us and kissed me. I didn't hesitate to kiss him back. As soon as our lips made contact with each other, I felt different, a good different.

I felt loved.
