"It's one in the morning. Does your life depend on it?" I rolled over so we were now face to face.
"Yes."
"Okay. Go ahead."
"Can jet fuel melt steel beams?"
"Did you really just wake me up to ask that Max?"
"No. I'm just bothering you while I can because I know in a few hours you'll leave for work and forget all about my existence, leaving me here to die."
"Nothing is going to change. I promise. Well no, I will be a bit busier than usual but it won't be a big deal."
"In that case since you're still awake can I ask another question?"
I sat up. "Sure."
"What came first? The chicken or the egg?"
"That's easy, it was the chicken."
"I disagree. It was the egg. How does a full adult chicken just pop out of nowhere?"
"Well where does the egg come from Max?"
"I'm right. I'll google this and you'll see."

He showed me search results from Google. Max was right, but I was partially right as well. The egg and the chicken came together from another bird that hatched them. I had to admit, that was the strangest scientific fact I had read about since Mars went into retrograde awhile back.
"You sure you have everything Oasis?" Max questioned for what seemed to be like the ninetieth time. He wanted me to be super prepared for my first day of work and in the beginning I thought it was sweet, but it soon became really annoying.
Max was meticulous about every detail and aspect of pretty much everything.
"Yes! This is an internship, not the first day of kindergarten."
"Okay, I'm sorry! I can't be concerned about your well being?"
"You can, but you don't need to be such a mom about it."
He scoffed. "I am not being a mom!"
I kissed my teeth. "Yes you are, I can prove it. Should I drink coffee right now?"
