I, Oasis Kai Evans, woke up to the most displeasing sight that any sane person could witness. This morning, Max's half of the bed was empty so I was all alone. So, I got up and went to peek in the kitchen to see what he was doing. Max was about to have a bowl of cereal, and I was seeing him do a happy dance that consisted of him shuffling around from side to side. But then, after that Max did the unthinkable. When he went to prepare the cereal he reached for the milk first, making me cringe.

He poured the milk then the cereal! I was honestly disappointed in Max, I thought he knew better.

"Max!" I scolded.

I had forgotten that he couldn't see me. "Whoa! Oasis don't do that! I could've spilled the milk!"

"But why are you pouring it first? That makes no sense whatsoever."

He rolled his eyes. "So, I see you're one of those kind of people. How a person has their cereal is no big deal, like it has literally no effect on anything."

"Yes it does, you probably put on a sock and shoe and a sock and shoe. Normal people put on a sock and a sock, then a shoe and a shoe."

"Okay, I concede your point, I do that. So what?"

"You're living backwards," I said in a joking voice although I wasn't joking.

"Prove it." He sat down and took a bite of his cereal.

I had no idea how to prove it, it's not the sort of thing a person can have evidence for. You just... know. For a moment everything had been silent so he was giving me the look that could only say, "ha" and make me feel stupid.

"You lose. There's no scientific proven fact that us milk first people are backwards. Ha!"

"Still, it doesn't seem right."

"Nothing in this world does."

"There you go again, everything is so philosophical with you. You're confusing."

"We have that in common. Isn't that the number one reason why we get along so well?" He picked me up and sat me on the kitchen counter, then put his head on my lap.

"You're right."

"What do you want to do today?" The question popped out of nowhere.

I opened my mouth to speak, but he cut me off.

"Please don't hit me with an 'I don't know'."

I smirked. "I don't know. You choose."

"Okay, but you might not like it."

"What is it?"

"Staying here."

"Staying here doing what?"

He gave me a wicked smirk and I slapped his arm. "You little nasty, I would never..."

"Never?"

"I don't mean to disappoint you, but not until I get married."

There had been many promises that I had made in my life only to break them. However, staying a virgin was something that I really wanted to do. I wouldn't forgive myself if I lost my virginity, even to what felt like the right person. I had seen far too many girls fall for someone who they thought were perfect only to have their heart smashed to pieces because the person got what they wanted and dipped. And while I trusted Max, who says he wouldn't pull a stunt like that?
