It was that date. The one Adelaide had scared me with, along with an address.

191 Oak Drive, apartment 28 at 3:00 in the afternoon.

It was currently 1:15 in the afternoon and I was staring at the clock on my phone still undecided. If I go, I may never come back, but if I didn't go I might end up drowning in fallacies forever. This was a risk that I was going to have to take.

"Ms. Evans, I think that it's best you remain here for at least one more day," the doctor told me.

"Well, I know that it's time for me to go. You gave me my prescription, some advice, and now I'm on my way."

She nodded. "Take care of yourself, dear." That was the second time someone told me to do that since I had been here, like they believed I didn't have the ability. I don't blame them, I did, but I hadn't been doing such a good job.

I recalled that Rafael wanted me to tell him when I got out but I chose not to, because right now I wasn't thinking about him in the least. I wanted to regather the broken pieces of what had once been my full life.

Fate had another idea. Because I ran into Rafael in the hallway.

"Oasis! I was actually going to come and visit you anyway. You're being released?" Why was he asking like I had been arrested.

"Yeah. Nice seeing you."

He grabbed my hand. "Hold on, why are you in such a rush?"

"I have somewhere important to be today."

"Wherever it is, how would you like it if I took you there?"

I shook my head. "No, this is somewhere I have to go alone. Please, let me do this."

"This is about him, isn't it? He wants you to meet up with him?"

"Not exactly. A close friend of mine gave me an address for clues and said I need to visit on this day at 3:00."

"Let me go with you for protection, that sounds like a trap or set up."

"Fine. Just stop asking so many questions. We're wasting time."

He walked with me and we both got into his car. I told him the address and he punched it into his GPS.

"Hm, you know, we're going to be a little bit late," he started to drive, "did you know this address is out of state in Connecticut? New Haven to be specific?"

"No. I guess she didn't want me to know."

He poked his mouth out and raised his eyebrows, but didn't say anything at all.

"So, what should I do if it is a trap?"

Using his free hand to grasp mine and hold it, he said, "Run, and never look back. No matter how much you want to."

"Wow, the way you said that I might as well be the prophet Lot's wife."

"Then that makes me an angel." He winked.
