I'm sure you've all heard about the Orlando mass shooting. It's awful and we need gun control. Starting Wednesday and ending yesterday, congress democrats held a sit in at congress because the republicans refused to enact a bill about gun control, and they would only work out a bill for the Zika virus and then go on break until July. The democrats bravely took control of congress and held a sit in for 24 hours (I believe that was how long. May have been longer). I can't tell you how proud I am to be a democrat and how angry I am with the republicans. 133 shootings in just this past year. 42,000 people have been killed in shootings in the last year. In almost any other country, the highest number of shootings that happen per year is five. In Australia, there have been zero shootings because they placed gun restrictions. Think about that. We are teaching kids to duck under tables and chairs and stand on toilets from a young age when under the threat of guns when we can't just get laws for background checks and save lives? Is that too much to ask for? Can you imagine knowing your young children knows they could get shot at any time, in any place, and knowing that that is the truth if you're living in America  because there's no restrictions on who buys guns?  How the hell can politicians ignore that number compared to any other country and not place restrictions on guns?   The government has a moral obligation to follow, like the preamble states "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." Provide for the common defence. Unsure domestic tranquility. That is what we need to do. And gun control is how we can start.

THANK YOU! SOMEONE IS FINALLY CALLING THE REPUBLICANS OUT FOR THIS. THEY ARE IGNORING THE FACT THAT IT WAS A HATE CRIME. I'm so close to going and smacking everyone one of them with a poster of all the victims of the shooting and waving an LGBTQ+ flag in their faces while doing so. Maybe that'll show them that it wasn't just an act of terrorism. Dear lord, republicans in our government can be complete and utter morons... They sound homophobic by calling this just "a tragedy" and acting like it isn't a big enough deal to lay down gun restrictions. It was more than a tragedy. It was a hate crime and an act of terrorism. A man came into a gay nightclub, someplace that was supposed to be a safe place, and shot around a hundred people, leaving 50 dead. The thing that disgusts me the most is the fact that this guy was an American. Everyone is blaming it on ISIS and shit because the guy had been watching ISIS videos. News flash. The dude chose to watch those videos. ISIS didn't brainwash him into watching the videos and going and massacring people in a nightclub. He was the one who chose to watch videos that just furthered his hatred. This was an American man. We blame all these horrible things on the people we know have done things in the past or are doing things now, when in reality, we are not focusing on the fact that these people are American people. It's Americans who have done the crime. It wasn't ISIS or terrorists who killed Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Freddie Grey, those nine people in that church, any of those people who died in school shootings, and it wasn't ISIS that massacred those people in Orlando. It was Americans who felt that innocent people should pay the price for our mistakes. And people keep saying America is the greatest country in the world. 133 shootings, all carried out by an American. This country is so full of racism, homophobia, and hatred. And people wonder why I want to move out of the country as soon as possible. Is this enough of an answer? But oh well. God bless America.
Enough is enough. They're still not putting restrictions on guns. How many more people have to die by shootings for the republicans to realise that you need gun restrictions. We need a bill. We need No Fly No Buy. Enough is enough.
