last part!!! Hope you all enjoy! There will be a lot of POV changes because the manga was the same way, but I hope it won't be too confusing. It's also REALLY REALLY long because the manga's last chapter was like 48 pages long and I was trying to get all of it in this  instead of making a fifth part. The manga is only four chapters but it's like REALLY long chapter so... Yeah, here's the last chapter, enjoy!

"ACHOO!"
Liam sniffled and let out a small groan.
"You okay?"
Liam rolled over and stared at Zayn, who had been letting Liam stay over while he was sick.
"Yeah. It's just a cold. I've been going out late at night lately and it's probably catching up to me. I wasn't feeling too great at the funeral service either."
"Sounds rough. Other than that, have you eaten lately? I brought some food you can have." Zayn gestured to the table beside the bed, where a plate with a sandwich laid.
"Thanks so much zaynie! You're the best!" Liam exclaimed.
Zayn laughed.
"You're going through rough times. Least I could do. Oh, by the way, here's your mail." Zayn handed Liam a stack of envelopes. Liam sighed and flipped through the envelopes, stopping on one. There wasn't a stamp or an address. He slit it open. Scanning the words, he felt a smile creeping onto his face.
"What are you smirking about?" Zayn rose an eyebrow.
"Oh, nothing."
Liam smiled down at the letter.
Have you stopped crying?
Liam laid back and read the letter again, smiling to himself.
It had been a while since he had seen Louis. Once his fever broke, the first thing he would do was go down and see him.
Liam sighed and closed his eyes.
He couldn't remember Louis' expression but he remembered his eyes that night as he patiently listened to Liam.
He remembered the feel of Louis' cold hands on his face, comforting him as he cried. Liam thought of going to talk to Louis, but when he had gotten to the bridge, Louis never showed up.

Louis started blankly at the envelope in front of him before he slid it into the mail slot. He flew away and landed in a park, sitting on the bench. Pulling out his notebook, he readied himself to write a new letter when there was footsteps near him. Looking up, he saw a beautiful woman, in a beautiful, Victorian era dress. She smiled at him and sat down next to him.
"My, it's rare to meet a kindred spirit." She smiled.
Louis stared.
"Don't worry, I'm the same as you. I just left my painting and decided to go for a stroll."
Louis noticed two people strolling down the path had stopped and stared at the two.
"Wow, that's an amazing dress."
"I love that boy's Angel costume."
The woman smiled and waved at the people.
"We were on our way back from a costume party. Isn't he lovely?"
Louis blinked. Liam said that every time people passed on the bridge. Louis laughed a bit to himself.
"I didn't know others could come out of their paintings." Louis scratched the back of his neck nervously, gripping his precious notebook and pen in the other hand.
"Thought you were the only one, didn't you? All paintings instilled with emotion can come to life. I guess the people in them just didn't feel the need to come out. Say, where's your painting? Mine is in a museum."
Louis shifted on his feet.
"I'm from a mural..." He muttered.
The woman looked intrigued for a minute before shifting topics.
"What were you writing?" She peered at him curiously.
"Oh... Just a letter."
"To think a mural like you could have a penpal." She giggled and smiled at him.
Louis frowned. Was Liam a pen pal if Louis was the only one writing the letters?
The woman sat down on the bench next to him.
"have you been in the city for long?" Louis inquired.
"I've been here for over two hundreds years."
"So, then do you know what happens to us if we don't return to our paintings by dawn?"
She pressed her finger to her chin in a thinking position.
"It's said we disappear,"
Louis felt his heart sink.
"But there's a rumour between us painting dwellers. It's said that if you fall in love with someone, and they love you back, you will become human. That's the only exception."
Louis' eyes widened as he let himself hope.
"Wait, does that mean you're fine if you love them?"
"It's mutual love that's needed, my dear. It can't be one sided."
Louis felt his heart sink again.
"I must be getting back. You should to, my dear, if you want to beat the dawn."
Louis watched the woman walk away before he turned and took off into the sky.
It had been ten years since he had told Niall to fly away, to be with Harry. He had let himself believe he had gone to Harry.
Louis clutched the notebook and pen to his chest as he flew.
There was no guarantee that Niall didn't disappear. He hadn't visited the art shop since he left. But Louis had been so sure that Harry and Niall's love was mutual.
Liam's tear stained face appeared in his mind. Louis felt his heart clench and he winced.
"Niall... Liam..."
