Zenix and his Past [ABANDONED]

Chapter 26 - Zella

    "What are you doing here?!" I yell at Zenix. No no no no... I look and see Garroth behind him. "Why did you let him come here?!"
    "Oh, you think I had a choice? He ran off- no. I'm not explaining myself to you like a disobedient child, first we escape, then the story."
    "No, you don't understand! You have to leave now! Both of you!" I shout. Zenix shoots me a look of confusion and then he looks around... oh-no!
    "Hey, the lever is right here! I can just free you right now..."
    "NO, ZENIX! DON'T..." but he pulls it down and he falls to the floor, his skin beginning to turn black from the wither. He groans loudly.
    "Dang it, Zenix!!!" Garroth yells. "Why are you always pulling levers?!"
    "Go... leave... without... me..." Zenix mumbles.
    "NO, WE CAN'T! THIS IS WHAT KNOX WANTS! YOU HAVE TO COME BACK WITH US!" I scream. The whole base shakes and I know what that means. This whole place is going to burn. "COME ON, ZENIX! YOU HAVE TO COME, NOW!" But he groans again I watch his eyes close.
    "Irene, help him." Garroth mumbles, picking him up and tossing him onto his shoulder, carefully.
    "Garroth..." I gasp at how he can carry him. Jeez, Zenix must weigh nothing! "Let's get out of here!" We begin to run and we get to the main room, when I am stopped by Knox- and his sword.
    "Don't you dare make another move! Or I will have your head!" Knox snarls. I stand still, unable to move. I see Garroth running with Zenix behind Knox- if I could get through... 
    "Move, you jerk! I knew your plan would fail! Just let me go!"
    "Oh, so you think I am just going to let someone live? No way! I will not-" but he jerks and falls to the floor, revealing Evangeline. She had stabbed him in the back...
    "Why..."
    "Let's just say Garroth proved himself... nevermind. There is another exit if you turn left. Now hurry! Before Knox wakes up and this whole place burns!" I nod her a thank you and I rush out the alternate exit. The portal is only a few footsteps away, so I leap before it explodes. I make it through, but when I get on the other side, the portal is blown up.
