"May we stop here?" Zella asks when we near a clearing. It is night again, but it is almost midnight. I set her down and she takes her hoodie off.
"Yes. We can camp out here till dawn." I answer. She shivers and sits on the grass.
"How's Zenix?" Zella's eyes are filled with worry. She crawls over to Zenix and she puts her hand on his forehead and she turns pale, "Oh... I thought I had more time..."
"What? What's wrong?" I ask, worried.
"It's probably not that bad... I mean, it just means we are limited on time..." she says, but she notices my confusion, "Oh, sorry... he is unconscious. He won't wake up for a while... at least until he is healed..."
"Well, you're a healer. Heal him!"
"I... I have never dealt with wither... all I know is that the person needs an overdose of healing potions for their recovery to be smoother, but I have no more potions..." Zella looks at her hands, "I can't do anything now..."
"Well, okay... what exactly can you do for him?" I interrogate.
"Ummm... I don't know... we just need to get him home as fast as possible. He should be still okay in the morning, but by tomorrow, he will be at death's doorstep."
"HOW THE HECK'S THAT SUPPOSED TO BE OKAY?!" I yell at her.
"Just don't freak out! I am trying to stay calm, but this is not easy for me either! I AM USELESS! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING!" she screams at me and puts her hands so they cover her eyes, "I am useless... UGH, THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!"
"Just... just why can't you just make A HEALING POTION?!"
"I AM NOT A FREAKING GODDESS! I NEED A BREWING STAND! JEEZ, I CAN'T STAND THIS!"
"Fine! HERE, TAKE MY OTHER BLAZE ROD! WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK?" I say, giving her my other blaze rod, but she pushes it away.
"I can't do it, no matter if you have infinity blaze rods... I told you before, there is nothing I can do. Wither is hard to deal with. It gets in your blood and you have to get it out, which I need to have certain things to do that, but I can't recall any of them... I am just stupid and useless, just... there is nothing I can do..." Zella murmurs as she strokes through Zenix's hair.
"Yes... yes you are stupid and useless. You can't even cure wither. How can I stand to look at you, hmm? Well, I can tell you why. You aren't useless. You ARE pretty stupid because you are saying that you are useless and stupid. So shut up and do your best, which is amazing, I don't know how you can know so much at such a young age. So you need to make a brewing stand, and DO SOMETHING!!!" I hopefully inspire her. I suck at speeches, so yeah. I hold out the blaze rod to her again and she takes it this time.
"Thanks..." she says, "I'll try to do something. You can get some rest if you'd like. I mean, you kinda deserve it after carrying both me and Zenix on your back."
"Pssh, I slept longer than I usually do in a week in those two days. So NOT TIRED AT ALL!" I decline. Zella shows a small smile, but she gets busy making the brewing stand and then combining weird things in it... she keeps getting mad at herself everytime she fails and then she will chuck the useless potion at the ground.
"UGH! WHAT AM I MISSING?!" she yells at herself, "I tried the mutton with the spider eye and that was pretty close, but not quite..." she tries again, for what feels like a few hundred more times, before she gasps. "GARROTH..."
"WHAT? WHAT IS IT, SMART ONE?"
"I... I think this... I think this is it..." she stares at the purple liquid and walks over to Zenix. She raises it above his head and slams it down so the glass shatters and dissolves on his face.
"Why, why are you throwing things at him? THAT'S MY JOB! DON'T TAKE MY JOB! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? BUT WHY, THOUGH?" I panic, "Are you really smashing it in his face?"
"Uh, it is the procedure. I have to do that so it works... DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD JUST DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT I WAS DOING?!"
"Well, I would. And I consider myself pretty smart so... yes?" I answer smartly.
"Umm, excuse me?! I know exactly-" but she is interrupted by a groaning sound. "Was that a zombie?!" she begins to panic.
"Never fear! I am here! Now, TO KILL ZOMBIEEEE!!!" I screech a battle cry and run around like an idiot looking for it, and finally see it. I cannot describe the look on that zombie's face when it saw a grown man screaming and running around like a person from the nether. I kill it swiftly, and my triumphant cry made even me, Swagger Garroth, cringe. I know, that must be pretty bad. I think even the trees were facepalming... But I hear Zella scream, and it sounds purely terrified. I run back and see Zella and Zenix behind the ugly greenness of a creeper. Time to kill this monster! I run toward it screaming, trying to draw it off them, and it of course works, since creepers are stupid. It comes at me, and I prepare to strike it. As it comes at me, it takes damage. It sizzles with anger and I look over at what hit it... Zenix?! He was behind it, sword in hand. He looks all tired and beat up, his skin still cracked and his legs are wobbling as he tries to stand properly, but he is half smiling. Zella goes over to him and she hides behind him. Irene, she is REALLY scared of monsters! "Zenix!" I exclaim. "Do you remember one of the first things I taught you? The whack back?" I ask.
"Yes, I remember," he says softly. I nod at the creeper.
"I'm going to hit it back to you okay? After I hit it, one hit should finish it off." I say. I hit the creeper and it goes right at Zenix. He is prepared to swing his sword, but he loses his balance and he falls to the ground, the sword goes flying in the air and it lands right on the creeper's head, killing it. Zenix stares at it in shock and he gets up to pick up his sword. I look at him in astonishment. "Z-Zenix... if it wasn't for your bad swordsmanship, then it would've blown up in your face. Do you know how long that would take to clean up?" I joke to hide my absolute terror. I almost lost another person dear to me... Mother of Irene... I almost lost TWO people. Zenix and Zella. I don't know how I'll cope if I lost one of them. Even more important, how the other would cope, since they seemingly can't cope without each other...
