To Kill A Chara

Revenge of the Undying Part Three

Undyne the Undying stands before Chara. Undyne attacks, and Chara tries to douge, but their sins weigh them down to much.

"Give up," Frisk grins, "we could barely handle Undyne with LOVE. You think you can win? Stop this Chara, and surrender your soul to me."

Chara ignores Frisk. They hold their knife. They check their ACT menu. They can only check Undyne. They offer her MERCY.

"Only one of us walks away from this," Undyne grins. She attacks again. Chara manages to dodge. Chara uses their turn to eat a cinnabunny they picked up at the shop. They have three left and the chocolate bar.

Undyne attacks again. Chara douges narrowly. Their sins continue to weigh them down, and grow ever heavier as they remember killing Undyne.

They killed her in cold blood, and only to grow stronger. They are consumed by guilt. Chara remembers Papayrus. He believes in them, and Chara refuses to let him down. Chara is filled with a little more DETERMINATION. Still not near enough to overcome Frisk however.

They overcome the weight of their sins. Undyne attacks again, but the attack is to fast, and Chara gets hit.

Chara uses another cinnabunny. Undyne starts to get frustrated. "Here's an idea," Frisk suggests to Undyne, "break the ITEM option!"

Undyne aims her spear on her turn. Chara realizes Undyne is preparing somthing, and prepares for the worst. Chara uses MERCY to skip their turn.

Undyne throws her spear at the ITEM option. Chara does their best to remain calm. Undyne attacks, hitting Chara, and leaving them with only one HP.

Chara offers Undyne MERCY one last time. "Stop pretending to be somthing you're not!" Undyne yells, "I know who you really are Chara! You're nothing but a sociopath who got their 'best friend' killed!" Chara remembers Asreil. They are overwhelmed with guilt. Their sins begin to weigh them down.

Undyne attacks again, but before she can, she hears the rattling of bones. "Nyeh he he!" Papayrus exclaims. Undyne turns around to see Papayrus.

"What are you doing here?" Undyne demands.

"Undyne this is crazy!" Papayrus tries to explain, "the human is kind and peaceful! They love puzzles and spaghetti! I can't let you kill them!"

Chara sees rage in Undyne's eyes. "Leave Papayrus," she demands.

"Undyne," Papayrus pleads, "it doesn't have to be like. Let the human go. No one has to get hurt."

"I said leave!" Undyne yells.

"Just kill him," Frisk demands, "it won't matter anyways."

Undyne refuses to listien. "I'm not going to hurt Papayrus," Undyne replies.

"Do it!" Frisk demands.

Undyne refuses. "Don't do this Undyne," Papayrus pleads, "just let the human, who may actually be Chara, go. They can reason with Asgore."

Undyne turns to face Chara. They try to attack, but Papayrus blocks her spears with bones. Then, overpowers Undyne's magic and turns Chara's soul blue instead of green.

"Run human!" Papayrus yells. Undyne turns Papyrus's soul green.

"I'll deal with you later," she growls. She chases after Chara. Chara manages to reach the bridge to Hotland, but they see Sans at the station... wide awake, watching, waiting.

He looks at Chara, smiling. Then Chara realizes, their soul isn't green, so if they're fast...

Chara sprints into Hotland. "Hey!" Sans yells cutting them off at the bridge. Chara looks to run back, but they see Undyne. They look down, but the lava would fry them for sure.

"Game over Chara," Frisk grins. Chara holds the knife. They look at Sans. If they kill him, they can still live a full life in the Underground, but... they decide that killing is not an option. They're freeing monsters, no matter what.

Chara looks around. They look at the ropes holding up the bridge as Undyne and Sans close in. They get an idea. They pretend to rush at Sans with intent to FIGHT, but instead cut the ropes, causing each side of the bridge to fall onto one of the canyon walls.

Chara clings for dear life as they rush towards the canyon wall. They almost lost their grip as they slam in the wall of the canyon. Sans is still in their way, and prepares to attack, but before he can, Chara grabs his leg. Knowing he'll just teleport anyways, they throw Sans down. Sans teleports to the other side of the canyon as Undyne climbs back up. They both glare at Chara, and head back to Waterfall.

Chara notices somthing, despite never being injured, Undyne begins to limp. Chara immediately rushes to the lab, hoping Gaster will know how to help Undyne, and stop her DETERMINATION from melting her.

Meanwhile, Sans and Undyne walk back to Undyne's house to plan how to kill Chara. Sans notices Undyne limping.

"You OK?" He asks.

Undyne knows killing Chara is priority, and decides it best not to bother Sans with her problem. "I'm fine," she lies, "just got a bit dinged up when the bridge fell."

Sans sees her beginning to melt. "Undyne," he explains, "you're melting. We have to get you to Alphys."

"I'm fine," Undyne growls.

Sans's phone rings. It's Papayrus.

"Sup bro?" Sans answers.

"It's Undyne!" Papayrus replies, "she's trying to kill the human! She turned my soul green! I can't move! Sans, you have to protect the human!"

Sans glares at Undyne with his glowing eye.

"Sure thing Paps," Sans replies. He hangs up. "You left Paps," he growls, "with a green soul while Chara is loose!?!"

"Sans," Undyne pleads, "I can ex-"

"Shut up!" Sans yells, "killing Chara is what matters now, and you're just getting in may way. See you in the next reset... you uncaring ignorant bitch." Sans leaves Undyne to melt and die.

"Sans?" Undyne calls out. "Sans!" She yells. "Someone, anyone, help! I'm melting!"... but nobody came...
