Chara walks forward, clutching their locket. Thinking of freeing monsters if they can get past Sans fills them with DETERMINATION... but they still can't save.

"So," Sans gives an eerie grin, "you know the drill... huh. No LOVE. No EXP... Not bad kid, but as I said to the the thug I killed which started all this, you mess with Frisk, and you're gonna have a bad time."

Sans starts a bad time.

"It was a beautiful day outside," Sans begins, "birds were singing, flowers were blooming, and kids like you..." Sans's eyes go blank, "were burning in hell."

Sans attacks with the same attack he always uses to start a bad time. Chara knows if they offer MERCY, they'll get dunked on, so they try to ACT. They can check and call.

They call out for help... there is no response.

Sans attacks again, he remembers killing Frisk over and over and again. He feels his own sins crawling down his back.

Chara calls out for help again... but nobody came.

"No one's gonna help you now," Sans smirks.

Flowey appears. "Howdy Chara!" He greets, "what's the problem?" Then he sees Sans.

"Go get Gaster!" Chara yells.

"On it, best friend," Flowey smiles. He leaves to get Gaster.

Chara checks Sans.

Sans. 1 atk. 1 def. You never could beat him. Why start now? Just DIE ALREADY!

Chara ignores Frisk.

Sans attacks again. "Tell me kid," he smirks, "was it worth it? Was it worth killing hundreds, was it worth taking away our happy ending? Was it all worth it?"

Chara feels their sins crawling down their back. They clutch their locket. Thinking about how happy Asgore and Toriel will be when they reach the surface fills Chara with DETERMINATION, but they still can't save.

Chara tries to ACT again. There's nothing else they can do but stall. They check Sans again to skip their turn.

"Let's face it kid," Sans continues, "kids like you can never atone. You'll wake up every day with the weight of your sins. You'll have to force a smile, and hide from your freinds that you watched them all die. Can you really do that?" Sans attacks again.

Chara begins to notice something off. Sans is being way to descriptive. Chara can only check though. They check Sans again.

"Could you look someone you've killed in the eye and call them your friend?" Sans continues, "could you really hide your sins from everyone? Listen, kid, you'd be better off soulless. Just offer me MERCY and get dunked on. I'll make it quick, I promise."

Sans is "sparing" Chara.

Chara gets another ACT option. They can ask.

Chara asks Sans if he's OK.

"Heh," Sans grins, "you really are like them aren't you? Sorry kid, but Frisk is my best friend. Time to end this, once and for all."

Sans attacks with everything he has. Eventually cornering Chara in the box. He prepares to finish Chara off, but a wall of bones blocks the gaster blaster.

"Sans," Gaster pleads, "let Chara go. Face it, it's better for everyone that Chara replace Frisk. Think about Toriel and Asgore. Will you truly take Chara from them?"

Sans grins. "You took my best friend," he grins holding the DETERMINATION, "Frisk helped everyone. Frisk gave us a happy ending, but you, you that that away for your own selfish desires. And you, 'dad', you betrayed my trust, and I will never forgive you. It's time to bring Frisk back."

"Sans wait," Gaster pleads with legitimate concern, "DETERMINATION is dangerous. I underwent severe modification and I can still melt if I'm careless. Don't do this."

Sans glares at Gaster, and injects the red liquid into his bones. Sans is filled with DETERMINATION...
