To Kill A Chara

Forced to FIGHT Part One

Chara remembers Undyne and calls Gaster.

"Gaster," Chara explains, "Undyne is melting. We need to extract her DETERMINATION."

"I'll handle it," Gaster replies, "for now, keep moving."

Gaster takes a shortcut to Waterfall and begins to look for Undyne. Meanwhile, Grilby arrives in Hotland, taking a scenic route after the bridge had been destroyed.

Grilby doesn't have any intention of harming the human, he just wants to ask about the other human from the dream. Noticing Grilby's LOVE of twelve, Frisk seizes the oppertunity.

"Going to see the human?" Frisk asks.

"Who are you?" Grilby demands.

"I'm the other human from your dream," Frisk explains, "the human in the Underground right now, Chara, can't be trusted. They've killed everyone, and took my soul."

"Why should I believe you?" Grilby asks.

"Ask them," Frisk grins, "mention the resets and Gaster, and they'll crack."

Reluctantly, Grilby decides to trust Frisk. He continues to move forward. Meanwhile, Chara begins nearing the Core. They receive a call from Papayrus.

"Human?" Papayrus asks, "where's Undyne?"

"Undyne's fine," Chara explains, "why, did she not make it home?"

"No," Papayrus replies, "there's no one here."

"I don't know why."

"Human, tell me the truth."

"I am, I have no clue where Undyne is."

"I'll wait here, we'll look for her together."

"Sure thing Pap."

Chara hangs up. They continue through Hotland, and run into Alphys and Mettaton. Chara hides behind a boulder.

"Mettaton," Alphys pleads, "if you kill Chara, the Underground will turn on you. Undyne's gone nuts, don't listen to her."

"Listen darling," Mettaton replies, "Chara is not what they seem. If you don't finish the new version of the human eradication program, I may get hurt, and you don't want that, do you Alphys?"

"No," Alphys replies, "I'll finish it."

"Excellent darling! Now, I have to make my own preparations." Mettaton leaves.

Chara's desire to stop Mettaton from manipulating Alphys fills them with DETERMINATION!... They still can't save.

Chara comes out. "Hey," Chara greets Alphys, "you don't have to listen to him."

Alphys jumps out of her skin. "Jeez kid," she gasps, "don't sneak up on me like that."

"Sorry," Chara replies, "but listen, Mettaton's manipulating you."

"I know, but I can't let anyone get hurt. Not if I can stop it."

"Listen Alphys, I won't hurt Mettaton, I promise. If you want to finish the program, I understand, but you don't have to. Do what you want." Chara continues to The Core.

Meanwhile Gaster finds Undyne. Undyne has already half melted, and can barely walk. Still, she continues towards Hotland, taking the same route Grilby did.

"Undyne," Gaster pleads, "you have to stop."

Undyne turns to face Gaster. "Oh," she growls, "it's you. Frisk warned me about you. Let me guess, you're gonna steal my DETERMINATION right?"

"No!" Gaster replies, "well, yes, but not for the reason you think. You're melting Undyne, if you don't have your DETERMINATION extracted you'll die."

"Like I should trust you, you killed everyone!"

"Undyne, listien, I did it for the greater good. I was erased, forgotten, but now, after the reset, I'm back. I never have to hurt anyone again. I'm sorry Undyne, truly, I am, but I beg of you, give Chara a chance," Gaster extends his arm, "give me a chance."

Undyne conjures a spear. "Over my pile of dust," she growls. Undyne triggers a FIGHT. Gaster checks Undyne.

Undyne the Undying. 99 atk 99 def. Determined to get Frisk's soul back.

Undyne attacks. Gaster douges. He only has six attack and six defense. He has sixty hp. He could probably take a hit, but isn't really confident with his defense so low. Gaster douges.

He tries to ACT. He can extract and check. He extracts. He leaps forward and uses a needle to take some of Undyne's DETERMINATION. Undyne's attack and defense drop.

Undyne attacks again, taking a more offensive stance making her attacks faster, but leaving her wide open to attack. Gaster struggles to douge, but manages to avoid getting hit.

Gaster extracts again. Undyne begins to return to normal and stop melting. She attacks with everything she has. Gaster does everything he can to douge, but gets hit. He takes forty damage.

Gaster decides to risk it and extracts again. Undyne returns to normal. "I won't let you win!" She yells. She breaks the MERCY, ACT and ITEM options. "It's you or me!" She exclaims.

Gaster uses FIGHT, but doesn't attack, he instead misses intentionally. Undyne attacks, and Gaster manages to douge. Gaster tries to reason with Undyne. "Undyne," he pleads, "this doesn't have to end with bloodshed. Just use MERCY to flee and end this FIGHT. Please, I just want what's best for everyone. Think about how happy Asgore, or as you call him, 'dad' will be to have Chara back. Will you truly take that from him?"

Undyne hesitates. Asgore had trained her, and raised her as his own. They had always been close. Frisk takes notice to Undyne's hesitation and tries to intervene.

"Undyne," they try to manipulate her, "Gaster can't be trusted. Just finish him. Chara will give in, and everything will go back to normal."

"I can't take Chara away from Asgore." Undyne replies, "I'm sorry Frisk."

Frisk is filled with a desire for vengeance on Gaster. They are filled with DETERMINATION. "You're going to kill Gaster," they growl, "weather you like it or not." Through sheer DETERMINATION, Frisk forces Undyne to FIGHT.

Gaster douges. "In the words of a friend," Frisk grins forcing Undyne to speak the words, "let's get to the point..."
