Chapter 25

Charlotte's POV:

I'd been in Chicago for two days but I couldn't hold off any longer. It was 7:45 and I hadn't slept.

I headed towards the bathroom and grabbed the tests. 5 minutes later, I looked down.

Positive. Shit.

I began to tear up and so I ran to the bedroom and changed before leaving Brandon a note and heading out to the park nearby.

I took a seat on a bench and began to cry more. How could I be pregnant? How do I tell Brandon? What would Joe do if he found out I lied? I'm too young to be having a baby.

I'm only 19 as of next week and everything's happening too fast... What do I do?

I took out my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found Caspar. I pressed call and waited. Soon enough, his deep South African voice was at the other end of the phone.

Caspar: Hi Charlotte, what's up?

Charlotte: I need to talk... are you busy?

Caspar: No I just woke up. What's up?

Charlotte: Caspar, I'm... pregnant. I sighed as did he.

Caspar: Charlotte... congratulations, I guess. Is there more?

Charlotte: It's Joe's....

Caspar: What! He screamed.

Charlotte: Yeah, it can't be Brandons.

Caspar: I was hoping it couldn't be Joe's either. Are you going to tell him?

Charlotte: I don't know, he'll want me back and I can't love him Cas and...

Caspar: And what Charlotte?!

Charlotte: He came to meet me at the airport and I thought I was pregnant, he made me take a test but just incase... I dipped it into toilet water instead... he thinks I'm not. He'd be so upset if he found out I lied. I can't Cas.

Caspar: Don't you think he'd be upset if he found out it was his? Not Brandons?

Charlotte: He doesn't need to know, or Brandon. Brandon didn't know about Joe, i'll just wait a while to tell him, he'll think it's hi-

Caspar: You can't do that Charlotte. Stay with him and make him look after another guys baby. Not unless he wants to.

Charlotte: Listen Cas. I know that but what am I meant to do? We've been together 5 minutes and already something's happened. I'll deal with it.

Caspar: Okay, by the way I think Janya are coming out on business for a week so meet up with them while you're there? Talk to them about it?

Charlotte: Sure Cas. Love you cuz.

Caspar: Love you too little cuz.

I guess that could have gone better. I texted Tanya and then just sat there, enjoying the park, alone.

Tanya replied as I was on my way back and so we began to talk.

C: Hi Tan! I was told you and Jim will be in Chicago? x

T: Yes we are! We leave later. How are you? x

C: I've been better, you? x

T: Really? What's up? x

C: I'll tell you when I see you. When will I see you? x

T: Tomorrow evening? Dinner? x

C: Sure! x

T: Great, i'll talk to you later, I have to finish packing. x

C: Okay, see you tomorrow! x

T: Bye C! X

It was now around 7:30 and me and Brandon decided to head to a nearby restaurant for dinner, no reason, we just did. We arrived and took our seats.

"Any drinks?" The waiter asked.

"Could I have a beer please?"

"Of course, and you?"

"Just a coke please?"

"Of course. They will be with you soon."

"So how are you enjoying Chicago?" Brandon asked.

"It's good. Just a lot of surprises."

"How do you mean?"

"A lot of changes."

"Yeah, when do you start work?"

"Next month. 23rd."

"Oh, how's Joe? Caspar told me everything."

"You spoke to Caspar?"

"Yeah, only about Joe and how he treated you, how I shouldn't treat you the same."

"Oh."

We soon ordered our food and it arrived. I just had some peri peri chicken and sweet potato fries and Brandon had a burger.

"So, what's new?"

"Nothing really, you?"

"Neither."

Soon enough that was over and we headed back to the apartment and ended up watching some friends and I soon decided to head to bed.

"I'm going to bed. Night honey."

"Night." We kissed and I retired to the bedroom. I had to tell him soon, he'd figure it out soon, he has to know. I'll tell him. Tomorrow.
