The Disaster of Kalos (An Ending to Pokemon XYZ)

Part One

"Noivern is unable to battle!" The referee announced. "Charizard is the winner!"

Ash called back Noivern, and fingered his last pokeball. Across the field, Charizard landed in front of Alain, who was smirking. Ash looked to the sidelines to see his friends looking worriedly at him. It was down to his last pokemon. Sighing, he threw his last pokeball.

"Go, Greninja!" Ash yelled as he released his last pokemon.

"I've been hoping for a rematch with your Greninja," Alain stated, still smirking.

"Then prepare yourself Alain," Ash replied. "Greninja, use water Pulse!"

"Ja!" Greninja shouted, throwing a Water Pulse at Charizard.

"Dodge it!" Alain ordered, and Charizard obeyed.

"Now, let's see if we can activate their power," Alain muttered, holding up his mega bracelet. "Now, Charizard. Mega Evolve!"

A blinding light faded away as soon as it came, revealing Mega Charizard X. Ash clenched his fists. He knew that Mega Charizard was really powerful. The only way that he could stand a chance against Mega Charizard is if Greninja could activate its true power.

It should work this time, Ash thought. It must.

"Come on, Greninja," Ash yelled. "We can take it! Now, Aerial Ace!"

Greninja obeyed, and it hit Mega Charizard square on. It just shook the attack off.

"Flamethrower!" Alain commanded.

Mega Charizard obeyed, but Greninja dodged it. Geninja looked at Ash, and nodded. Ash nodded back in understanding.

"Let's do this, Greninja!" Ash shouted. "Show them our power!"

"JA!" Greninja shouted as a whirlpool of water surrounded it.

Ash heard everyone who was watching him gasp, but his attention was only on Greninja. From across the field, Alain was smiling.

"Good," Alain said. "Now it's time for the real battle to begin. Charizard, Dragon Claw!"

"Greninja, block it with Cut!" Ash ordered. "Then use Water Shuriken!"

The whirlpool around Greninja disappeared, revealing Ash-Greninja. Ash-Greninja blocked Dragon Claw, then threw the giant Water Shuriken that was on its back at Mega Charizard. It was a direct hit, and Mega Charizard was thrown backwards.

"Charizard!" Alain shouted. "Flare Blitz!"

Mega Charizard roared and the ground was soon ablaze.

"Greninja! Look out!" Ash warned.

Ash-Greninja jumped above Mega Charizard, and threw another Water Shuriken at it. Mega Charizard was hit full-on, and it fell to the ground. Smoke surrounded the pokemon. Alain couldn't see, but Ash could see through Ash-Greninja's eyes. He could see that Mega Charizard was extremely weakened, so this was his chance to finally beat Alain.

"Charizard, Dragon Claw!" Alain suddenly yelled.

Ash had no time to react, and Ash-Greninja was struck by Mega Charizard's Dragon Claw. Ash felt the pain, and grabbed his arm. Ash-Greninja was thrown through the smoke, and it landed on all fours. It stood up, still determined.

"Water Shuriken!"

"Flamethrower!"

The two attacks met, resulting in an explosion. Alain and Ash both braced themselves as the result of the explosion. The smoke soon cleared showing the two pokemon staring each other down. But it was Mega Charizard that fell. It turned back into regular Charizard, and Ash-Greninja turned back into regular Greninja. Ash sighed, and sat on the ground in exhaustion. He did it. He finally beat Alain.

"Charizard is unable to battle, Greninja is the winner!" The referee announced. "And that means that the winner of the Kalos League is Ash!"

The crowd cheered as Alain called back his Charizard. Even though he lost, he still smiled.

"Good job, Charizard," Alain spoke to his pokeball. "Ash has gotten very powerful." He looked to Ash who was happily hugging his Greninja. "It was a good battle."

Alain and Ash walked towards each other and met in the middle of the field. Alain held out his hand, and Ash shook it.

"That was a good battle Ash," Alain commented. "I'm glad that we were able to have a rematch."

"Thanks Alain," Ash replied. "It was a close one. Your Charizard is very strong."

"And so is your Greninja," Alain said. "Also, congratulations on winning the League."

"Thanks Alain," Ash said, laughing a little.

"Congratulations Ash," someone said, stepping next to the referee.

"Diantha," Ash said, surprised that the Champion was here.

"I would like you and your friends to come with me," Diantha said. Then, turning to Alain, "You can come too."

Ash called back Greninja, and nodded.

"Ash!"

Ash turned his head to see Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena running towards him. Serena threw herself on Ash in a hug.

"I knew it!" Serena yelled happily. "I knew that you would win!"

"Thanks Serena," Ash said. "Can you let go now? I can't breathe!"

"Oh, sorry," Serena said, letting Ash go, her face turning red.

"It's good that you are all here," Diantha said. "Come with me everyone."

Diantha led everyone into a room with lines of pictures of people and their pokemon.

"Here are the pictures of the people and pokemon that have previously beat the Kalos League," Diantha explained.

"Look, isn't that you Diantha?" Clemont asked, pointing at the last picture.

"Why yes it is Clemont," Diantha replied. "Now Ash, release your pokemon, and stand in front of that camera."

Ash obeyed, and Diantha took their picture. A few seconds later, she framed it and placed it next to her picture.

"Now, if you want, you can come back and challenge me to be the Champion of Kalos," Diantha explained.

"Sure!" Ash said. "I'll just need to visit home first."

"Hey Ash, can we go with you?" Bonnie asked.

"Sure," Ash replied. "You can meet everyone else."

Alain smiled as Ash and everyone else began chattering.

I'm glad that Ash won, Alain thought, staring at everyone. I did get stronger, but I guess that he was stronger than me. How am I going to explain this to Lysandre? I hope that I will still be able to help Mairin and Chespin. I need to see her smile again.
