Chapter 12

Ban POV

I didn't actually get any sleep last night. I had my eyes closed, but I was actually thinking it over. Should I bring Maeve on my journey to the Fairy King's forest? She is injured now, but that's because I wasn't protecting her. I'll be there to protect her now. I could tell her about my past. I really trust her with that, like how I trusted Elaine.

It was then I noticed, Maeve was beginning to wake up. "Hey... what are you staring at me for?", she asked tiredly. "Just admiring your beauty", I smirked. Maeve chuckled. "Okay, sure. Admire the trashcan" "No! You're not trash. Don't tell yourself that!" She went silent for a moment. "Okay... I won't. For your sake"

We silently cuddled a little longer. The whole time I was thinking more about the decision of whether to bring Maeve along on my journey to the Fairy King's forest or not. After about another 25 minutes, I had finally made my decision.

"You can come with me", I said breaking the silence.

Maeve POV

I looked at Ban with a strange mix of emotions on my face when he said that. I was happy, shocked, confused, & a little scared. "What?", I questioned him. "You can come with me, as long as you bring a weapon", he replied. I then smiled. "Alright. I'm cool with that", I hugged him.

We went downstairs. King & Danii were also just now coming downstairs. King was floating & carrying Danii as she was holding an ice pack against her ankle. "I'm not letting you risk hurting your ankle more", I heard him say. Danii rolled her eyes & smiled a little. "Okay, fiiiiine", she replied in a slightly sarcastic tone. 'Man, it must suck having sprained your ankle 8 times', I thought.

Third Person POV

Everyone else was sitting around eating breakfast. Elizabeth had made everyone some scrambled eggs & sausage. Maeve sat down next to Ban & set her head down on the table.

"Hey Ban, why did you & Maeve take over my room last night?", Meliodas asked. "Because we wanted to", Ban replied. "Why didn't you kick us out?" "Ehh, I guess you have a point" Meliodas crossed his arms. "By the way Ban, I've come to a decision" "Hm? What's that captain?"

"You can go do this thing you have to do, as long as you're back in time to go into the other world with Danii & Maeve", Meliodas stated. Ban thought over it for a moment. "Let me take Maeve, & you have a deal", he tried to negotiate. Meliodas sighed & rolled his eyes. "Fine, if it means you're gonna be back on time I guess..."

Danii gave Maeve & Ban a worried look. Maeve looked up, knowing Danii was worried. "Don't worry, we'll be fine", she smiled.

"So when are you guys leaving?", Diane asked. "After breakfast", Ban replied. "Hey, Elizabeth. Pass us some breakfast" Maeve looked up at Ban, slightly shocked. She didn't expect them to be leaving today. She knew she was ready though.

"Oh, okay", Elizabeth replied. "But really? Today, Sir Ban?" "Honestly, it's the only way we can get this done before we go to the other world. I wouldn't want to let Maeve or Danii down by not going over there with them", he smirked. He really seemed to genuinely care. Elizabeth sighed. "Okay then, but be careful Sir Ban! You too, Maeve!" "Don't worry, we will!", he put his arm around Maeve.

A little while later, it was time for them to leave. Danii limped up to Maeve as quickly as she could &  hugged her. Maeve usually hates physical contact with pretty much everyone she knows except Ban. Even so, she accepted this hug from Danii & even hugged back a little.

"Alright. We'll see you guys later. Remember, be back", Meliodas said. "We will", Ban said. "See you later, captain" Then Ban & Maeve turned their backs on us.

Danii POV

I sighed. This was gonna be hard. I knew my stress & anxiety was gonna go up because of me worrying about their safety. Anyway, I was just going to hide it & keep moving along...

ZAP!

Gowther had just decided to tap into my thoughts.

No one else way paying attention, but still...

"Do not worry, they will be safe", Gowther said. "There is no reason for you to have anxiety" I once again limped over to Gowther. "I'm fine. I'll be even better when you stop tapping into my memories & thoughts" Gowther just calmly tilted his head to the side a little. "I see that in the past, you have had bad anxiety attacks due to stress", he said. "If it helps, I know ways to help with anxiety which I have read of in books" "Okay, cool, the first thing you can do is stop tapping into my mind"

"Are you guys alright over there?", King asked floating over. "Yeah, we're all good King", I replied. "I noticed you limping around over here. You shouldn't be using your ankle", he picked me up & started carrying me. "I know what I'm doing, but okay", I smiled a little. Even if Gowther was being kind of a prick right now, I at least had King. He always made me happy.

"Well guys, I have some news", Meliodas said after we all regrouped inside the Boar Hat. "Even though Ban & Maeve have left us, we still have to start searching for Escanor" "What?!", I yelled in protest. "But what about when we have to go?! What about when they try to come back here?!" "I can track their location, so we can go to them or bring them to us if we need to", Merlin stated. I sighed.

"Okay. Fine. I'll help you guys the best way I can", I said. "Okay, can you cook us all dinner?", Meliodas asked. "What the hell?! Are you serious?", King yelled. "Not with her ankle like this!" "Actually, I can maybe make some hamburgers", I said. "The best way that I can get my ankle back to normal is by slowly trying to walk on it. I can be walking normal in three days if you let me walk. Plus, we still need to eat" King sighed. "Alright, fine", he carefully set me down.

A little while later, I had made everyone hamburgers, including Hawk. "This definitely isn't gonna be as good as Ban's food, but it'll do", I said as I gave everyone a plate with a hamburger on it. "Hey! This at least tastes good! Unlike Meliodas' cooking!", Hawk said. "Thanks", I chuckled.

"So, when are we going to start searching for Escanor?", Diane asked. "Tomorrow", Meliodas replied.

I took a deep breath, because tomorrow came the real adventure, along with the real challenge.

[ Hello! Aspen here. I just want to say Ban & Maeve's adventure is started next chapter, because I feel it's right that way. Also, I'm going to try to half/half the chapters between Maeve & Danii. I really hope this works, because this is gonna be hard! ]
