Chapter 23: Finally Home

Icestorm and Nettleclaw ran over to Shadowmoon. "Are you alright Shadowmoon?" Asked Nettleclaw. "Yeah, I'm fine." "Let's get going." Said Shadowmoon. Once Icestorm told Sal, Night, and Leafpool what happened, the cats set off on the journey once more. Soon they reached the end of the alley and came to the abandoned twoleg den that Sal and Night stayed in. "Sal, Night, did you leave anything in there?" Asked Leafpool. "No, but I don't think I can go any further today. Mewed Night. "Me too." Replied Shadowmoon. "Alright." "We'll stay here for the night." Mewed Icestorm. Once the cats had eaten, they fell asleep. Icestorm couldn't wait to get back to her family.

The next morning, Icestorm woke up to find a mouse in front of her paws. She sat up and stretched, then began to eat along with everyone else. Once the cats had finished their meal, Sal said, "Are we ready?" Icestorm jumped up with the crystal herb in her jaws and gave a muffled "Let's go!" The cats walked out of the twoleg den and down the street. They dodged trash bins and other cats. They also kept a watchful eye out for the dogs that attacked them before. Soon they came to an even bigger thunderpath than the last one. They went in the same pairs and all made it across safely. They crossed on Lionclan's border and into the forest. Soon they heard a patrol coming so the cats stopped and waited. Buzzardtail, Falconfrost, and Lionheart stepped out of the brush and saw the cats. "Icestorm!" "Your back!" Exclaimed Buzzardtail. "Who are they?" Asked Falconfrost. "This is Sal and Night." "They want to join the clan." Answered Icestorm. "Let's talk about this later." "Rockkit needs that herb." Mewed Lionheart. Icestorm nodded her head.

Once the cats had gotten to camp, Icestorm rushed over to the medicine cat den. "Flamefeather!" "I'm back!" Called Icestorm. Flamefeather poked her head out of the nursery. "He's in here." "Hurry." Icestorm pushed past Flamefeather and ran to Rockkit. Rockkit slowly lifted his head and his eyes brightened when he saw his mother. "Momma!" He whispered as he sat up. "Rockkit, honey." "It's alright." She placed the herb against Rockkit's chest and the herb immediately melted into his chest. Then Rockkit fell back into his nest.

Once Rockkit woke up, Icestorm, Stormeye, Rosekit, and Littlekit were sitting in front of him. "Momma!" He ran to Icestorm and buried his nose into her fur. She bent down and nuzzled his ear. "Let's go out there and show everyone you are alright." Rockkit nodded his head and followed Icestorm out along with his father and his siblings. Once they exited the nursery, they saw the whole clan sitting outside. Most of the cats congratulated Icestorm for completing her journey. Some of the cats asked Rockkit how he felt. Then Lightningstrike came up to Icestorm and said, "Welcome back Icestorm." Icestorm dipped her head. "Thank you!" "Where's Crystalstar?" Lightningstrike's eyes saddened. "She lost her ninth life in a fight with the rogues. Icestorm's heart was filled with sadness. "Oh no!" "I'm so sorry to hear that Lightningstrike." "It's actually Lightningstar now." "And we've decided to call the clan "AuroraClan."
