Two minutes after the hoard of gunshots, I gradually raised my hands out of the lid and into the open.

The light breeze hit my arms as they went out and I inhaled the fresh air in a desperate attempt to provide my lungs with sufficient amount of oxygen.

I wasn't stupid enough to poke my face right out. I'd gotten enough damage on it as from before. Thank you very much!

After my hands were all out and my head still ducked in, I shouted.

"It's me, Alora, you useless woman! Why didn't you just go ahead and cover the lid with explosives while you were at it? Tell your men to hold their fire, I'm coming out now!"

Still with caution, I climbed the rest of the way out.

I just lost the little teeny, tiny bit of trust I'd gained in this woman. It's like she can't just go one day without stupidity.

Pushing myself out, the sky outside was turning darker every second as the sun started to hide away.

I stood on the uneven ground and swayed.

This was embarrassing as fuck but I think I might've fallen on the ground, face first if it wasn't for the agent rushing forward and catching me. Real talk.

The injuries were now catching up with me and my exhausted body was losing control as the adrenaline left it.

"Alora you ok? Or do you want us to carry you all the way?"

Oh how I'd missed that Barbie's teasing voice...not really.

Reacting on impulse, I pushed the agent away from me and stood up as straight as I could.

"Are you out of your mind!? Who the hell gives an order to open fire at anything which crawls out of the black hole?!"I glared at her.

Her move had unprofessional written on its forehead.

Does moves even have a forehead to have something written on them?  The voice was back in my head.

I dunno, you tell me since you're such a genius. I shot back to it.

"Don't blame me! You didn't see the condition they carried you inside. Just to clarify, you looked like a dead corpse, by the way." She said. And she was right.

"Thanks. I think that means I was looking like you do everyday."

It was a fat chance I might've not come out of there so, it wasn't technically her fault and the aching in my whole body told me it wasn't good idea to waste time on bickering right now.

However, I wanted to ask why she hadn't send agents right away to rescue the little old hurt me from the tunnel and I voiced it out in a question.

"Alora, I might hate you more than Lucifer hates God but we both know that you always have a plan. You didn't get caught to cook pancakes with them. You wanted something and I hope you got it because—"

"OH MY GOD! What the hell just happened in there!? Alora, you ok?"

Now this was a voice I did miss.

At least it wasn't high pitched like the banshee in front of me and most awesomest thing, it also had the tint of British accent and how he said my name, you know in British how they make a simple O into double OO.

STOP! YOU ARE DOING IT AGAIN!

Perhaps, it was my tired out brain. Yes absolutely that. There's no way in hell I actually like how he says my name.
