My knees thudded against the rough road, Nathan's arm still crushing my windpipe. I looked up, raising my head slightly from its bowed position from the tight hold as I saw Natalie get up, coming to stand right in front of me. My eyes watered from the unbearable pain as I tried to look around, searching from the green eyed man.
He wasn't anywhere to be seen and in my fucked up mind, I thought of the possibility that I could've just imagined him there, doing what I wanted an angel to do right now.
There wasn't any help coming. I'm so fucking dumb. I let myself get caught for a figment of my imagination.
Alarm bells went off in my head as it sensed its doom near, my body begging for oxygen as my brain started shutting down, water now running down from my eyes in steady stream due to the pain.

Time. It's so damn precious.
One second of that same exact time can make you the luckiest person on this earth or it can fuck you up so hard that it sends you to your last breaths.
They say time slows down when something affecting your emotions heavily ensues.
But they're so utterly wrong.
Time doesn't slow down for anybody. It continues at its steady rate.
Its us, humans who realize to treasure it for the first time ever. Who appreciate and regret every second we wasted, during those moments when we truly feel it and cherish it.
And I felt it all.
I felt every second, every milli and microsecond down on that filthy road, my knees bend at the mercy of the man who held my future right in his hand.
The twins looked down at me with a smirk I would've killed them for in the past, but for the first time ever in my life I let them smile.
I bowed my head, resting my fate in their hands.
Coward move? Tell me all about it, but when there's almost no air supply in your body, it fucks up your brain. The injuries not helping even a little.
No amount of training can prepare you for this moment.
The moment where you can see death staring at you from meters distance, shaking its head in disappointment and you want to elude it. By God, you want to do everything in your power to avoid its clutches but there's not much you can do 'cause you know you ain't no James Bond that you'll blast the whole place with a God damn watch and escape with everything on fire in background.
"This is so fun!" Nat-fucking-lie actually squealed, her eyes glinting with excitement of what was about to happen.
Leave it to her to find amusement in someone's misery.
"Not just yet. Real fun will begin when Axel gets hold of her." Nathan chuckled at her sister. His grip on my neck still firm, his other hand now resting on my shoulder.
