"Hi.. Um...What are you doing here?"
If I didn't have the lump in my throat, or if I wasn't the one on the other end of this awkward as fuck encounter, I would've laughed my ass off from the expression on his face.
I mean, he looked so fucked up.
His eyes were scanning the area behind me to see if someone forced me here on gunpoint, his eyebrows were scrunched up in a frown. His famous smirk nowhere to be seen, instead his lips carrying a grimace. His hand immediately cutting the call without even any warning to the person on the other side and shoving it in his jean pocket.
"Wow. Way to make it more awkward." I muttered, looking down at my feet.
What the fuck am I doing?! Alora Pierce doesn't look down, she's gone through worse situations than this uncomfortable one.
Remember your three aims, Alora? Say hi, say thanks, say goodbye, and shoot the fuck outta there without stepping a foot inside. You're done with one of them. Time to say thanks.
My subconscious I swear, is more intelligent than me.
"I wanted to say-" I started at the same time as he opened his mouth to say:
"Do you wanna come-" His eyes widened when he realized we went together.
I get me, actually I don't but whatever. I get that I'm all this nervous but Holy Hell, what the fuck is wrong with him?!
He's the one who has no shame all the time then when the only time I want him to BE his usual self, he's being like this?!!
Fuck it.
"Ladies first." He gestured with his hand, indicating I should complete what I was going to say.
I narrowed my eyes at him, crossing my arms.
"I swear if you say that one more time, I'll punch your chauvinist face."
He scoffed, folding his hands on his chiseled, broad chest, the muscles in his upper arm, rippling due to the movement. Oh shit.
"And then they ask why chivalry is dead."
And just like that tension crackling the air, disappeared. His frustrating behavior back again. Basically, he was normal again.
"Nobody's asking you to pretend to be a gentleman. We all know how acting isn't your strongest suit."
I smiled sweetly at him. But his lips tugged in a smirk not the usual kind, this one was much different, I dunno how and why, I couldn't put my finger on it either. His eyes glazed over, showing he'd left this conversation and this world, with it.
"Earth to Arsen."
After a few seconds, I snapped my fingers in his face, trying to get his attention back to the present but he still didn't respond.
I smiled when an idea came to my mind. I raised my other hand which was still hanging on my side, and moved it to the already raised one towards his right ear.
I let my both hands collide together with as much force as I could muster. My both hands slapped one another in such a thunderous clap, that even I winced, taking a step back from it's velocity.
Arsen, he was well... another story.
He shuddered, his body shaking and ripping from the movement. His eyes blinking furiously to break out of the train of thought it was busy in thinking. His face contorted in fury, his bright green eyes darkened to almost black.
