"Where the fuck is your security?"

Arsen twisted in his seat, turning back to look at the security post, right beside the entrance of the metal gates of my house we'd just passed through to enter my house's driveway.

The security do their checkups there of anyone entering or leaving the house. And today, no one even peeked out to see.

In fact, the metal gates were wide open, welcoming anyone who wanted to enter. Forget the security checkups, they were a far off thing.

"I dunno."

And I really didn't. They're always there. No matter what time of day or month.

Nobody came out when we drove right through the open gates. But I sure as hell wasn't going to double back just to check why the security wasn't there.

They weren't there, that's why whatever was happening, is happening in the first place.

"Travon!"

The second I parked the car in driveway, I rushed out, leaving the ignition of the car and door wide open.

Travon was standing right outside our big, mahogany, main door which was wide open, with a few hinges unhooked like it had been ran over by a bulldozer.

Travon's hands were tucked in his slack's front pockets, his dress jacket no where near him and his crisp white shirt clinging to his body. His back was towards us but I internally thanked the God for finding no injury on him.

His stance was one of calm. Not the soothing one, though. Oh no, it was of a man waiting for a chance to blow up on anything, anyone.

I couldn't see his face but it was tilted upwards, observing my bedroom glass panels, the glass shreds of it now all broken and lying around Travon's feet like someone threw chairs down from it. Only there were no chairs in the vicinity.

He didn't respond to my call. Instead my brother turned.

Travon turned slowly, rotating his body fully, to look at Arsen and mine running selves and putting himself on full view for us to look, at the same moment.

Look at the damage on it.

My breath hitched, as bile rose up to my throat to the point I think I swallowed to keep myself from puking right there on pavement. My steps faltered right there in the air from the sight of him.

The front of his white shirt was soaked in red from his blood. His shirt was ripped and pierced in numerous places with glass pieces sticking out of them, taunting and teasing over the power they had to kill my brother.

The next few minutes passed in complete slow motion.

You know like in movies when a grenade falls and the character can't hear or see clearly for a few minutes? And the only thing you do hear, is their heavy breathing?

That was what was slowly happening to me. Around me.

From behind me, I heard the shouts of a familiar voice.

I knew that voice. I came listening to it whole way here, yet I couldn't put a name to it. My mind refused to focus on anything else.

From my sides, cars arrived, men piling out of them.
