"I'm going to slit your throat with a knife so slowly and painfully that you'll beg for mercy." I hissed, crouching low, to avoid another armed man.
"How many times do I have to remind you, baby? You love me too much to do that." Heath sighed, tsking and shaking his head in disappointment, turning back to face me since he was squatting in front of me.
Bastard acted like we were on a theatre stage, with the dramatics he was showing when in reality we were infiltrating a fucking safe house of a person Heath didn't fucking bother to tell me the name of.
"Well then, you must've not heard of the saying that goes, those who love you most, end up hurting you the most." I shot back, watching and waiting for the man on patrol to move away so we could move past him without knocking him or God forbid, killing him.
"I've heard of it and I'm pretty sure it goes something like, those you love the most, end up hurting you— Get down!" Heath hissed out the last words, his voice suddenly turning serious.
He pushed me down on the floor, his body following suit on top of me. Seconds later, the spotlight's white, blinding light cut through the air where our heads had been moment before.
I groaned from under Heath's body weight.
"Hey. You have my full permission to get up anytime now." I grumbled out, grabbing his shoulders and pushing.
He didn't even budge.
Heath lifted his head, his face so close to mine that I could the specks of silver in his eyes and feel his warm breath on my face.
If an outsider saw us right now, he'd probably think bedroom was our next destination.
"I dunno, Alora. I think, I like where I am, very much." Heath grinned down at me, his eyes roaming my face, with his teeth shining in the dark of the night and his hair giving the illusion of a magnificent archangel with the moon shining on it. That's what it was all, just an illusion. Motherfucker was too sinful to be as pure as an angel.
"Look, Heath. Here's the thing. I'd probably knee your ability to produce a child but then you'll be sulking the whole rest of the mission and I can't have that so, would you mind terribly, if you willing got up?" I smiled up at him, fluttering my eye, innocently.
His reaction was priceless.
In a second, he jumped back up and sat in a crouched position again.
Either that man on patrol was deaf or whole lot untrained 'cause even with our hushed whispers, he was bound to hear us with how close he was to our hideout. And yet here we were with Heath making my life miserable, like always.
The mission was actually quite simple. Retrieve the clients as fast and as quietly, as possible.
We had yet to enter the actual building where our two hostages were being held.
Whoever was holding our clients captive, had a sweet paranoia of being attacked, with the number of guards guarding this facility. But they were trained worse than Heath's six year old brother and that's saying something since that young soul hasn't seen a gun once in his life.
We'd knocked out a few dozen of these guards on the first checkpoint and this second checkpoint had yet to know of the news of our arrival or their half men down.
