Chapter 14: Santiago

~ Chapter 14: Santiago ~

"Come on, momma!" Saige smiled running of the small hill. I smiled walking behind him with the picnic basket in hand. Today was such a great day. The birds were chirping and sun was shining brightly across the sky. There were clouds, the kind of clouds that look like giant cotton balls, all fluffy and whatnot.

"Be careful baby!" I called out walking behind him. He was fast and I didn't want to lose sight of him. "Saige, slow down!" I said moving a bit faster. I felt like I was in quick sand and my legs and arms felt so heavy.

"Momma!" I heard him yell out and I panicked trying to move. I was being pulled down.

"Saige!"

"Mommy!" I was sinking. I cried clawing at the sand to get out.

"No!" I screamed falling through the sand. I hit the ground at the top of the hill and coughed looking up. "Saige..." I said reaching for his hand. He looked down at me and growled ripping his hand away from me and stepping back. A man stood behind him and I couldn't breath.

"N- No..."

"Hello Kai."

"Santiago..."

"How could you take my son from me Kai?" Santiago frowned and I shook my head.

"Saige come to me please."

"No, I hate you! You lied to me!"

"She did lie to you didn't she." Santiago smirked whispered something into Saige's ear and Saige growled.

"No, No... I didn't lie to you baby please." I cried and begged. This couldn't be happening! The look in Saige's eyes made me want to cry.

"You ran from daddy, that's why he's not with us. You ran from him!" Saige said taking Santiago's hand.

"How could you Kai? How could you run from me like that?" Santiago said frowning but it was all an act. This was all a dream I know but the tears I cried were real. This was the dream I was dreamt every once in a while, every few day it pops into my head and I knew it so well, I knew what was coming next... Santiago bent down and wrapped his hand around my throat pulling me up. Saige vanished and we were transported to that dreadful pack house.

"Santiago... please stop. Can't breath!" I whimpered gripping his wrists. My feet were off the ground and I was dying...

"They can't save you." He whispered in my ear.

"They won't love you like I do."

"I'll kill them both and you know it."

"And you want to know something else?"

"I know where you are..."

"NO!" I screamed waking up.

"Kai! Open your eyes, you're dreaming!" someone said holding my tightly.

"NO!!" I cried kicking until someone else held my legs down. Shaking, I cried nearly out of breath.

"Baby girl, open your eyes for me." Cameron whispered and my eyes popped open. There were paper and other objects that suddenly fell to the floor from floating around us.

"No... no... no..." I mumbled as Cameron rocked me back and forth.

"Kai look at me." Donovan said cupping my cheek and I flinched not meaning to. He much have notice too because he moved back taking my hand instead. "You're having a panic attack, breath ok. Breathe in, breathe out like this..." Donovan said. I did as he said until I was breathing normal again. Cameron let me go and I grabbed his hand before it slipped from my shoulder, not wanting to lost contact between us.
