~ Chapter 5: The Late Shift ~

Saige was fine and was able to go back to school the next day. It was a typical case of an upset stomach, nothing serious thank God. As promised, I agreed to work the late shift with Mr. Harris. The twenty-fifth floor was dimly lit with only my desk lamp shining the brightest. I rubbed my eyes, taking a break from staring at the computer screen for an hour straight.

It was ten twenty-seven p.m, in other words... late as hell.

Mr. Harris came out his office to check up on me for the third time. Ever since that incident where he brushed the back of my knee and had his hand on my leg, I was starting to feel uncomfortable around him.

"I'm making a coffee run, how do you like yours?" He asked smiling kindly.

"Don't I usually get the coffee?"

"Yes but you've been working so hard lately..." He trailed off walking behind my chair. I swallowed, flinching as he rested his hands on my shoulders. I tried shaking him off but his grip didn't loosen. "I been meaning to give you a promotion..." he chuckled.

"You know what, I'll go get the coffee." I smiled nervously about to stand but he sat me back down in my seat.

"Relax Kai, It's only coffee." He whispered in my ear as his hands glided down my forearms.

"Mr. Harris, please... This is very unprofessional." I frowned wiggling out of he grasp standing and turning to look at him. He frowned deeply and a quick flash of anger ran across his face.

"It'll be a shame it you didn't get the promotion. More money, an office all your own. All you have to do is a few late shifts." He said smirking unbuckling his belt. I slapped him without a second thought. Glaring at him as he wiped the little blood from his lip.

"I am not a whore, Mr. Harris." I said.

"You'll be if you want that promotion!" He yelled pushing the chair out the way and attacking me. I shrugged with him, pushing him back by his shoulders so he couldn't kiss me.

"Get the hell off me!" I yelled. I couldn't get a good shot at his crotch with my knee so I head butted him and threw a strong right hook to his jaw.

"I like it when they fight me, I fucking love it." He smirked grabbing my hair. I hit him with my free hand as he got his pants down around his ankles. Jesus, this wasn't a game!

"Stop!" I screamed and suddenly, he froze, he choked and fell to the floor. I got off my desk, heart pounding staring at the unconscious Mr. Harris.

"Look like trouble loves following you..." Someone said and I spun around seeing Cameron at least twenty feet away, standing in the shadows. His eyes, they were that same fiery red like that night in the alley.

"H- How long have you been standing there?" I asked trying my hardest to calm my racing heart.

"A minute or so. I walked in on the part where he said you'll be if you want that promotion." He said and my eyes widen.

"And you didn't see that he was about to rape me?!" I shouted.

"I figured you had it under control." He said mockingly referring back to what I said in the meeting yesterday.

"You bastard, he could have raped me!" I yelled and tears started in my eyes. Cameron frowned deeply and appeared before me with lightening speed.

"I would never let anyone hurt you intentionally." He said gazing deeply into my eyes. For some reason I can't explain, I hugged him and it seemed that it caught him off guard as well. He wrapped his powerful arms around me as I shed tears. I looked into his eyes and blinked as he wiped away my tears with the pad of his thumb. His hand was so warm as he stroked my cheek. I kissed him. I threw my arms around him and kissed him. He pushed me against the wall kissing me back roughly. I didn't mind at the least. I felt safe in his arms and there was just something about him that was driving me to act this way. I broke the kiss for much needed air. Our foreheads together. "Whether you know this or not, my brother and I... want you. We want all of you. Heart, body and soul Kai. We would never harm you because we're incapable of it." Cameron said hugging me a little bit tighter making me feel so snug.
