A/N Have any of you seen this video? It's beautiful and makes me sob, and I just had to share it, okay on with the story
**Steve's PoV ****
Steve sat down on the sofa, his head in his hands, letting out a rueful sigh. There weren't many situations that Captain America didn't make a difference in. He helped battle rogue gods, twisted Nazis, and corrupted robots.
But at that moment, in that particular situation, he was utterly helpless.
If there was one thing that Steve knew about his friend, the previous Winter Soldier, it was that he could hide, and he could hide well.
He'd just finished calling everyone that he that he knew had some sort of connection with Bucky, and had no luck locating his friend.
He even called Tony, who could barely stand in the same room as Bucky, let alone possibly give him a place to stay.
Steve had hoped that Bucky had went to a friend and tried to stay with them. He called all of the Avengers, even though he knew Bucky wouldn't exactly call them all his friend's.
But Bucky was with none of them.
So that meant that Steve's fear had come true.
Bucky had actually ran away, meaning that he was probably wandering around some city right now, alone and lost.
It was clear that his friend had left, and had no intentions on letting Steve find him.
He dreaded when nightfall would come.
He knew he would be up all night worrying that Bucky would be hungry, tired, or cold.
The man shook his head as the depressing image came to his mind- Bucky walking down a deserted alley late at night, his stomach aching from hunger, his body trembling for warmth, his mind begging for rest. . .
It broke Steve's heart.
He wanted to go search every corner of the world until he found his pal and brought him home safely.
He wanted to give Bucky a warm meal so he knew that his friend's stomach would be satisfied.
He wanted to tuck his friend into bed, just to know that he was warm and comfy.
He wanted to embrace him and-
Steve stopped.
He stood up and began to pace the living room, frustrated with himself.
He was only friend's with Bucky.
He was in love with Sharon.
He was going to propose to her and they were going to have a life together.
Steve had spent his whole teenage life convincing himself that the reason why he didn't go on dates is because he was insecure of his small size, not because he secretly would much rather share a dance with his best friend than a dame.
He had finally gotten himself convinced that he felt nothing more than friendship for Bucky.
Then Bucky came back.
Then Bucky kissed him.
And the years that he had spent convincing himself of his feelings all went to waste.
***Bucky's PoV***
Bucky had always liked rain.
It always seemed calming, so serene, even if some found the dark, looming clouds threatening.
