"Merry? Merry? Are you alive? Please, Merry. Answer me. Wake up."

Merry and Pippin were clinging on to the backs of these tall, hideous creatures that were faster and more cunning than orcs. They were called the Uruk-Hai. I found that I was being carried by one of these foul creature while I was unconscious. I couldn't hear or see a thing.

"Merry....She's dead. She's dead." Pippin whimpered.

Merry didn't reply back. There was no sign of life in him.

"Merry!" Pippin yelled.

"Quiet down back there, you little rat!" hollered an Uruk-Hai that was following him from behind.

Pippin let out a shrill cry. "Oh, no. Merry is dead. Brianna is dead. I'm all alone! I don't think I'll make it!"

Pippin quickly glanced over at Merry one last time

"Psst....Pippin." whispered Merry. "I'm not dead."

Pippin's ears perked up as soon as he heard the sound of Merry's voice. "Merry, you're alive?"
he whispered.

"I wasn't really dead, Pip. I was just fooling them. Looks like I fooled you." Merry chuckled quietly.

"Merry, Brianna is dead."

"What?"

"She's dead, Merry."

Merry lifted a finger and pointed it at the Uruk-Hai that was carrying me.

"Pippin. She's not dead." Said Merry. "She was just knocked out cold. It could be a while until she wakes back up again."

"Where are we, Merry? Where are we headed? Where are we going? What are they going to do with us?" There were so many questions that were running through Pippin's head.

"I don't know, Pip. I don't know." Merry answered, in a soft voice.

"I'm scared, Merry. I don't want to be here." Pippin's heart was racing. His hands were shaking terribly, while he tightly clutched onto the back of the Uruk-Hai that he was on top of.

"Don't worry, we'll find a way out of here." Merry reassured. "I promise."

The Uruk-Hai leaded halted for a brief moment. The leader of the pack sniffed the air heavily.

"What is it? What do you smell?" asked an Uruk-Hai, in a gruff voice.

"Man flesh!" answered the leader.
