Saruman and Gríma were having a private discussion in the tower of Orthanc.
"Théoden will not stay at Edoras." said Gríma. "It is vulnerable, he knows this."
"He will expect an attack on the city. They will flee to Helm's Deep, the great fortress of Rohan. It is a dangerous road, take through the mountains. It will be slow. They will have women with them.....and children."
Saruman raised his bushy, grey eyebrows.
"On the matter of children, did you find the halfling's daughter in Edoras?"
"I'm afraid not, sir." replied Gríma.
"She must be hiding somewhere in the far reaches of Rohan."
"We need to find the girl!" howled Saruman, banging his staff crashingly against the floor. His voice echoed throughout the tower.
"I understand, sir." Gríma faltered. "W-We'll find her eventually." Gríma reassured.
Saruman's lifeless eyes were filled with madness. He climbed down his tower down into the depths of Isengard and spoke to one of the orc chieftains.
"Send out your Warg riders. And send some of your soldiers into Fangorn Forest!" He ordered.
"Bring me back the halfling's child, alive and unspoiled. Go!"
The Orc chieftain grinned menacingly. There were many silhouettes of orcs and wild beasts towering behind him.
