"Want me to walk you to class?" Edd offers as we leave the nurses office.
I smile, but decline the gesture- I didn't want to be the reason he is late to his second hour. I already feel bad enough for him missing first period.
"But-" Edd starts, but I cut him off - resting my hand on his arm and looking up at him.
"I-I'll be okay, I promise."
He holds my glance for a while, thinking. I start to wonder if it would of been quicker for us to get to class if I would of said yes, when he finally sighs, "Alright, but tomorrow I'm walking you to all your classes."
I smile taking his hand into my small hand, "I'd like that."
He smiles looking down at our intertwined hands and gently squeezes my hand.
I squeeze his hand in return, "I will see you later, okay?"
He nods, "Okay."
I let go of his hand, it suddenly feeling cold- I missed holding his hand already, but I start walking down the hallway toward my classroom. Once I had got halfway down the hallway the urge to turn around was uncontrollable.
So when I did, I saw Edd in the same spot from where he was standing last, watching me walk away. He smiles waving to me making me laugh, "Aren't you going to class?"
He shrugs, "I'd rather walk you to class."
I blush, "I-I g-guess you could."
His smile grows and he runs down the hall to my side, but when he runs it isn't like a newborn deer learning to walk for the first time - like my walk - his walk was natural...had a rhythm... It was beautiful.
Just like him.
When I look up at him he is smiling, a smile that I am getting used to seeing these last few days, "Would it be okay if I hold your hand, Pumpkin?"
I nod blushing like crazy.
Other than our feet make a echoed tapping noise as we walk in sync with each other to my classroom, there was no noise. It wasn't the uncomfortable silence... Definitely not that, it is hard to explain though... It's a nice (?) silence.
"Well this is me," I say trying to be cute but it just came out weird.
"Eh- I mean.. This is my classroom."
Edd chuckles, "You're cute."
I blush and look down, "Th-Thank you for walking me to class."
"Anytime Pumpkin, Want me to walk you home after our club meetings?"
"Th-That'd be nice," I say looking up.
"Okay, see you later than Dork," He replies for walking away.
